I can't help but think that structures like this one will soon exist in our own world; that we will exhaust the resources near the surface of the world and have to dig deeper and deeper to find that which fuels our race, thus creating underground mines that reasemble something from a fantasy world

This is great, it give me a feeling of being half-way between Fantasy and Science Fiction. Which incidentally is my favorite subject matter to write.
Really, just amazing artwork. You have an excellent use of light and dark here. It gives the piece a very visceral depth, like I'm physically standing on the prow of a boat farther back in, closing in on where the cavern opens up.
