Very good tutorial. Hopefully I will be able to incorporate this with what ive learned from other space tutorials. Unfortunately I use Gimp, so i have to do some improv, which can be good.

Actually this tutorial is really good. And I totally agree with you: tutorials help you, but you improve by your self working a lot. A tutorial only can help you to start and idea by providing you the tools for work.
So this tutorial is really good, I like the simply brush ideas you use. I'll keep this one in mind and some others two in my next artwork. I've done some nebulaes but like I don't like them (The brushing was a bit weird), I searched some tutorials. And congratulations for making this one, is pretty good and help me a lot with the lights and darks parts. Thanks for this tool

Heehee. Methinks perhaps I recognise certain format elements, and even some flow and wording from my tut. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, or that you can't do so, just curious if that is right, I remember ya as one of the viewers as my tut, mostly cos the nebula pic you did using my tut is actually /still/ my current favourite on my page.
About this tut itself though, it isn't bad at all. I love this style of nebula, and is one had been meaning to look into learning, also, you've gone and made nebula clouds seem so dang easy. I got to say, that was one of my biggest nebulae problems, getting decent looking clouds.
So good tut, hope you can get some more coverage for it, but I would request, that if I am right about some aspects of it having a source of mine - may even have been unconciously, I can let you know where I found links if you're unsure - that perhaps could get a link to mine as well in yer description if not the tut itself?
Anywho, great work, hope you continue.

i actually never used any references from your tutorial, i just woke up one morning and did this...i might have done it subconciously though, lol...and the wording im not even sure if i recognise any wording similar to your but hey thats coincidental, i know what you mean though ;P
and actually..seing as your tutorial was so uber, ill place a link anyway
thanks for the comment

Lookin again, there is still a lot of correlation between the two, but a lot of it could be purely coincidence, or simply something that needed to be said. Like we both used 'In the beginning..', and we both mentioned that some do their stars first, but that we prefer to do them last. We also both used 'Are we done yet...?' further down into the tut, that's sorta one of the more solid links, but undoubtedly not an original thing even when I did it. Heehee.
There are others, but none of it is a big deal, for the most part, your technique given is rather different, and I like it. Actually experimenting a bit with 'your way' at present, and am gonna stick a link to yours from mine, as it is good to get different methods and ideas, and further more, yours seems a much better solution for those without digital tablets, so saves me writing a 'non-mouse' version.

"in the begginning there was darkness, from the darkness came...the mana"..and then that started it all off

Wow. Great work. The purples aren't my fav but look very realistic. I think it could use more stars, but otherwise it's pure perfection.
