Description

So this took way longer than I thought it would, but I've finally finished a ref for Maple, who's the main protagonist of Koda's World Gaiden, a side story set in Ace-The-Artist 's comic universe.

Bio: Maple and her older sister Sybil are the daughters of Okin Kotyan, a decorated soldier. He wanted the best education for his daughters, so he sent them to boarding school. After graduating boarding school, the two were sent to a military academy in hopes of also becoming soldiers. However, things didn't go as planned when Maple was almost killed by a psychotic student and Sybil was forced to attack him to protect her sister. The two of them were kicked out, where they were forced to look for other career options. They eventually settled on becoming personal bodyguards. Pop singer Kit Yuan decided to hire them after his fellow singer Dominic Reyes was attacked and severely injured during a concert. After a successful tour, the two were then hired by the Enigma Sisters, the biggest pop sensation this side of her hometown Vlocksworks. Maple quickly gained a crush on Emily, the sweeter of the two sisters.

One hot summer night, Maple spots a fireball crashing down to Udoria on the way back from a concert. Curious of the object, she discovered the fresh wreckage of an alien starship in the forest outside Vlocksworks. Seeing what looked like a person trapped in the burning craft, she managed to pull a dying alien out of the ship, who insisted that she take up their gun and to never let it fall into the wrong hands. Before the alien could explain, they died of their wounds. When Maple picked up the gun, it bonded to her DNA. After thinking it over, she decided to use the weapon to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a superhero.

Strengths/abilities:
Combat training: Though her training is incomplete, she still managed to learn a lot in military school.
Alien Flux Pistol: Maple wields a gun like no other. It packs a punch for something of its size and can be set to stun for use on living things. Its most impressive feature is the ability to absorb mutation shards and use the abilities they grant without mutating Maple herself. As it absorbs shards, it can gain access to even more forms for different situations.
Jet boots: Top secret government/military tech that Maple was able to acquire. They allow her to hover and fly for short distances.

Weaknesses:
Is primarily a ranged fighter and is somehow worse at close range combat than her less trained teammates.

Fun Facts:
Wears glasses to correct mild astigmatism and make herself look less intimidating when she’s a bodyguard.
Originally designed for Tiamat City/Tiamatia/Foxtrot/Estrella Fantasia before the world got canned.
