Description
Here's my newest character, a robot known as S-16, though she prefers to be called Euryale (like the myths). She was once a beautiful automaton girl who was in charge of keeping a luxurious cruise ship running, but her ship was attacked by the Empire and she was kidnapped. To make a long story short, she ended up as a test subject for a group of mad scientists who gave her this current, gorgon-like form, and was forced to go into hiding in an abandoned temple. She can't actually turn people to stone with her gaze, but her weapon can basically do the same thing. Also, she's not actually evil, but misunderstood and thought to be a monster by the forest people. Within the temple, she must protect the ancient artifact inside and make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. That's where her victims came from, though it's unknown if they're truly dead or alive. Dr. Cephalon may have a past with her.S-16/Euryale ©

She's normally not very scary or dangerous, as long as you make sure not to call her "it" or "monster".

Or she'll pretty much turn you to stone with her weapon. You see, she was never the same after those mad scientists performed cruel experiments on her, which eventually led to her current Medusa-like form. She was actually very pretty before that.

that story kinda reminds me of s Ivy or my Clarea TBH with you.......
actually she would fit into HitG pretty well as a medic IMO but nice character though.

Yeah, I wanted to give her a more tragic backstory to make her stand out more among the other characters. Although in the main cast, there's a girl who never knew her birth parents.

It's not that sad. She's an alien whose species does this for every new generation. And she has loving adoptive parents.

Yeah; when the game starts it doesn't give you a choice. You choose where you grew up, how your parents died, and what you were arrested for (they find you in a cell).
Finch's parents were blasted by the Armada; they were pirates. She was raised by an old (softie) salt called Milo Greytail in Scrimshaw, which is a pretty shoddy place.
Cyrus's parents were lost looking for treasure. He was raised by a wealthy pair of dogs who were unable to have their own puppies. He grew up in Marleybone (basically England).
Scarlet's parents were killed by a mutinous crew; they were also pirates. Scarlet was raised by an old cow couple until she was of a certain age, and then went to train among the ninja pigs. She was raised in MooShu (basically China/Japan.)

I think my favorite backstory out of all three is Scarlet's because it involves mutiny, which would definitely happen in a world full of pirates.

Eh, it's because it ties into the plot. It gets awkward sometimes because a lot of characters seem to remember your parents, but not all of them know that they're dead. So they're like "hey say hi to your mother for me" and you just stand there like "uh. sure"
Scarlet's backstory is the most intricate; also you're totally right. There is a lot of mutiny. Personally my favorite character of the three is Finch, because there's just a lot to her character. She was raised in--well, in abject poverty--with a single dad in a part of town where you could be mugged for no good reason, all the time. She could have grown up bitter and mean and ruthless to follow in the footsteps of a lot of residents, but instead she (with the help of Milo) got herself educated, versed herself in the fine art of thievery (hey it is a pirate game) and made up her mind to go out and get what she wanted. She's still ruthless, but in a good way.

Supes. But I mean, it's also a little interesting because apparently your character is like the spitting image of one of your parents because those who know you are just like "Captain...what again? OH FINCH! Whoa, hey, you look exactly like your mother. God bless her soul," and you're like 'haha I have never met youuuuu'
