it looks neat on first glance, but there's a lot of things wrong with it, as well.
for the first part, the posing, his shoulder should be more up, holding the gun like that would cause his arm to break by shooting, and the head looks a bit awkward the way it's posed, but I'm guessing it was inflator'd, so that's excused to a certain degree
now, onto the lighting, i see you have a basic grasp of how to lighting, but the lighting still looks dull, you'll want to add rimlighting and such, maybe even scene lighting, all that helps to enhance the atmosphere of a picture, and you'll want to tone the bloom down, it look really odd when his face glows.
as for colour mod, you should use that as well, really helps on the scene colours, not much more to say about that
The camera angle is the most glaring issue with this, it looks really unfocused, you need to back up, so that more or less it focuses on his face and the gun, that works the best for a dramatic camera angle, this would've worked for a movie if it was dialogue, but it isn't so you should try conveying emotion, or lack, thereof, by posing the camera in a more engaging position, perhaps making it aim at the camera, or somewhere just about it, or below it, such as [link] at any rate, you seem to be improving, so keep on trucking

First off, thanks for the feedback.
Time to start defending myself :
I would have posed the shoulder higher up, but since this model still has the basic TF2 ragdoll physics, the shoulder isn't even a bone and therefore not posable. I also ignored physics, as for the breaking-his-arm part, because, well the Matrix is a computer program and if Agent Smith can dodge bullets, he is pretty well capable of firing a high caliber fire-arm any way he pleases
As a matter of fact, I DID use color mod
Should look into rimlighting sometime, though...

yeah, you should, basically what you want to do is take the opposite spectrum of the colour you used for the main lamp, crank the light strength to 0.5-6 and put it behind/at an angle, works like a charm

Say, what would be opposite spectrum of something orange-ish, exactly? Or do I need to whip out a Color wheel every time I wanna light something?

something blue or cyan i guess
oh and, i got the light values mixed up, the main lamps should be 0.5-6, and the rims should be 1.2-5
and you'll want to use the blue lamps for the main lighting unless you want a warm n cozy scene

I usually go for orange light, since it looks more natural to me, though I can see why blue light would be better in this situation.

i don't have examples to show, but basiscally, blue lights for night/cold scenes, orange light for warm or day scenes.

yay! inspiration!
on an off-topic note, do you play the orange box on an Xbox 360 console? or are you strictly a PC player?
