I really, really enjoy this piece. The character design with the proportions of the head as well as the design for the eyes really creates a mystical looking character! The choice to do the whole character in grayscale and only have the eyes coloured is a great choice and one that paid off very nicely. The eyes give him a very eerie quality that ties in with the black background.
The style that I think you kind of have going on here is a very Baroque style with the very stage like lighting and black background. It really turned out nice especially with this character.
Judging by his clothing its some sort of futuristic or strong metal plated armor. It works very well with the ret of the character really tying in a background and personality.
The only thing that I don't fully understand is the coiled, wire looking piece stretching from his ear to his nose. It seems to be some kind of accessory but it is not fully clear. Though it does add more to his futuristic look.
Overall, awesome job! I really love the character and the technique you used to create him!

Whoa! Now, thatΒ is unexpected! My second most favorite series drags Veronica's attention... What are the chances? Anyway, i'm glad to know we have matching tastes in literature. I'm wondering what comes next? MaybeΒ The Night's Dawn Β ?Β
P. S. It is really hard to get rid ofΒ Kyle MacLachlan's Paul Atreides though...

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
(Frank Herbert, "Dune")
