First piece in 2011
You know, I have to say that I really love it when I come across a stock photo and I immediately see a finished picture in my head. And that feeling gets even better when the finished picture has stock photos that I already have saved. When I saw *mjranum-stock s model stock, that's exactly what happened, I saw this exact picture in my head.
I instantly loaded it in photoshop and just roughly put the pictures together to see if it would really work, and it did. The next day I went back, and redid the whole process but with more detail, blended everything together and voila... it was just like I imagined.
Now, this is a very simple piece but I have to say that it has been a while since I've been this satisfied with the finished product, I even have this as my wallpaper now and that never happened before... yeah I like my work THAT much... sue me

Apart from the fact that I'm a huge fan of post-apocalyptic themes, recent events have also been a slight inspiration for this piece.
I'm sure you know what I'm talking about... the mass die off of birds and fish and whatnot? Yeah, that.
Now, I'm telling ya, the first thing that came to mind when I saw the news was:
1. Holy shit, this is like something from 'Supernatural'! Apocalypse is coming and this is just the first of many omens to come.
2. Holy shit, this is just like 'Flash Forward'! It's only a matter of time when the entire population of Earth passes out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds and we will all see 6 months in the future.

because let's be honest... you don't really believe it was the fireworks that dunnit
