Description I made this stamp in light of what's been happening with a number of users who have been getting their deviations marked for mature content without their permission, as well as Tumblr purging its NSFW content to make it "family-friendly".

One thing I've had a problem with for ages is parents getting upset because their 8-year-old is using Facebook or because their kid went on a website that isn't even intended for kids and saw something that's NSFW. Now some of these parents are demanding that the websites should be shut down. News flash, parents: kids shouldn't be using social media AT ALL until they are at least 13.

I'm sorry, but kids shouldn't. If they are using YouTube, you should put it on Restricted Mode (and make sure they aren't watching anything that is reminiscent of Elsagate videos). There is also software that parents can use to block adult content. Schools should also be using this content since kids often use computer class as an excuse to use social media.

Children really shouldn't be spending so much time on the computer. Some little kids are on almost the whole day. A young child should only be using the Internet for about an hour at most. When the child gets older, you can increase the amount of time they get. Only when your kid turns 18 should they be allowed to use the Internet with complete freedom.

Also, trying to hold websites like Facebook, DeviantArt, Reddit, and Twitter accountable for your children's behavior or what your children saw is wrong. It's the parents' fault for allowing this, and it can be the kids' fault too for being irresponsible (especially if it's not the first time they did it). Same goes for NSFW sites, which explicitly warn you that you have to be 18 or older to enter. Adult websites are allowed to exist for adults' entertainment, and as long as they're not doing anything illegal, adults should be allowed to enjoy their NSFW art/videos/etc. BTW, if you know the meaning of the word "deviant", it makes it pretty clear that DeviantArt is not the place for an 8-year-old. If you are under 13 and you are caught on DeviantArt, DeviantArt will deactivate your account until you turn 13.

There is legal binding to this too. Many websites put a minimum age limit on their websites to comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). Websites can get taken down for not complying with COPPA, and the last thing I want to see is to get DeviantArt taken down or severely bowdlerized because of kids using websites that they shouldn't be on,

Yes, there are plenty of loopholes, and kids can easily exploit them. For example, kids sometimes create fake accounts on websites they're too young for by lying about their age. If your kid does this, then you should punish them and take their computer away.

So there you have it. If you caught your 8-year-old kid using DeviantArt, then it is either your fault, your kid's fault, or both, NOT DeviantArt's. I want adults like me to be able to enjoy websites like DeviantArt and not have to get worried about soccer moms trying to make us "family-friendly" just because they didn't keep an eye on their kids' computer usage. Parents need to accept responsibility for their kids' actions and stop blaming us.

Oh and another thing, I keep seeing these videos of spider man and Elsa stuff 'for kid's but they are basically cosplaying as characters from a kids series and roleplaying in such a disgusting way (sexual harassment, kidnapping, pranking in a harmful way, stuff like that) I don't know if the YouTube kids app would allow this kind of stuff. It even happens in animations as well, like for instance, a video of Minnie faking her pregnancy, trying to jump off a building. IT LIKE MAKING CRIME STUFF FOR FUCKING ALL AGES!! I doubt a child predator made the spiderman and Elsa doing adult things, and probably think to themselves "OoOOh yEaH, I'm GoNnA mAkE PoRn fRiEnDlY"

The problem is: People are pissed about YouTube changing shit and ruining its own website (COPPA situation, pedophilia incidents, etc.)
If it weren't for Elsagate, none of that would've happen for all of the YouTubers

I remember on the news where i read an article about a kid watching Super Mario Logan which is not ment for kids. The kid was watching a Jeffy video called "Jeffy's Tantrum". In one scene of the video, Jeffy made a noose just to kill himself because Mario didn't want Jeffy to get the Spongebob Game on the Ipad. So the kid imitated Jeffy putting a noose on himself and the Mom was shocked to see that her son was killing himself. So she noticed that she was watching inappropriate content.

I agree 100% because children shouldn't even be on the Internet.

Plus look at these videos that also proves that children should be monitored. An angry parent blames everything on a YouTube animator for his daughter not wanting to go to school all because the YouTuber shared a video about her school experience. The parent had the nerve to try to convert the YouTuber to Christianity because "99% of the world is Christian", not realizing that he's giving Christianity a bad name and being a negligent parent.

Parents really need to take responsibility for their actions instead of playing the blame game.

I agree with this stamp. But the real reason why Tumblr purged NSFW content is not because of "mortality" reasons, but because advertisers didn't want ads next to pornagraphy. Another reason is that the Tumblr app was removed from the Apple store is because it contained child pornagraphy.

What I dislike is that moral guardians whine about their kids watching inappropriate videos only for these videos to be purged.

To be honest, I don't understand why more parents don't just use the PBS Kids app instead of the YouTube app (regular or Kids version) if they want to entertain their children with fun, educational videos that's free.  YouTube's such a large site with so much content that it's way too easy to deviate to other, less child-friendly content and YouTube's notoriously unreliable filter system doesn't help.

And yeah, not to sound like one of those "technology is evil back in my day blahblah" types of people, children really shouldn't be on the internet (or even the TV, for that matter) for very long.  Most experts don't recommend babies below the age of two to watch TV or use the internet at all, and when they are of that age they usually only recommend about two hours a day.
