Probably, because most people in gaming were aware of that since the game got announced, so they ignored it and started to look at what made her unique. At least, that's my point of view. Not all women I've seen or met portray their sex or gender "as it should be". The very fact that you consider her portrait negative can even become a stereotype, as it is based on your ideals of how people should wear or look like. I can agree that it's "outrageous", but the game she stars in is as "outrageous" too.

No one really likes someone, unless there's something else to that appearance and figure.

i never said it was negative, i just realized no one is upset for a company for designing a obviously sexualized character and putting her in a main character spotlight where she obviously makes sexual gestures with the intent to entice the viewers, PG didn't do this at all or not near these levels and she was nearly crucified for it.

So, despite the developer created a hiper-sex-linked character, they didn't portray her to these levels, like in this picture, and the audience got upset because she wasn't "posing" for their "viewing" pleasure.

If that's what you meant, then it seems that my reasons for liking this character and this game are quite different from most people's. It's upsetting when appearance and appeal are the only reasons behind the liking of a character, and yet it isn't the first time it happens. I've had a few a bad experiences on my own, and with games I thought I would like.

you're taking this way left field here dear.

The comparison is that the character is intentionally sexualized and even features a design similarity to Power Girl, who was criticized by critics from various womens group for being a negative portrayal of women, despite her being a main character as well as powerful and intelligent, where as Bayonetta who was largely just as exposed received no such criticism. It's more of a comparison between what is allowed in video games as oppose to comics despite the former being a lot more open to younger audiences than the former.

I see. The point is that, although Bayonetta always shows off the fact she's sex-linked, Power Girl gets the criticism for just dressing an exposing attire, and then she's almost put aside for not showing off. That's ironic and unfair.

By the way, forgive me for my mistake. I wasn't able to make out the meaning of "PG" in your last comment. I confused it with "Platinum Games", when you really meant "Power Girl".
