Nothing spells street gangster graffiti like Garfield.
Excellent work! Lovin' his pose and expression! What a cool cat.

So this is where the taxes go, cleaning up "art" from public propery :/

More like "cleaning up" art from public property. Look at that ugly ass white wall. Do you see that ugly ass white wall? Without that mural there, this would be one cold, gray, ugly peice of shit wall. It's not even like it's a storefront, it's a wall, probably in an alley.
Why bother painting over it? Is the white wall somehow better than the mural? Is it more attractive? More "clean?" Does it make people feel somehow safer to bury this part of their culture under layers of whitewash?

yeah right, you see that crappy white wash? clearly the taxes are not going there. The irony in this, is that the money is going into big fat cat's pockets and America knows it. ha.

This is ART. And you have no idea that this was done on public property illegally.

Read this FAQ #873: What do I do when I disapprove of a Daily Deviation feature?
If you have a problem with a particular Daily Deviation feature, do NOT leave your disapproval among the other comments on the piece.

Not if it's illegal defacement of property no. How would you like it if someone covered your fence badly drawn pink ponies and butterflies. If you haven't go permission for the work, it's unfair and illegal to make it.

AmberShroom In reply to jacij [2010-10-03 16:00:25 +0000 UTC]
yes, however i think the council should do more for the people who do want to start of this artwork..
and think of it this way... putting a face on somthing isen't defaceing

Bleunicorn In reply to jacij [2010-10-03 00:56:59 +0000 UTC]
Well, since this isn't badly drawn, I don't think it's fair to include "badly drawn" in that.
If my fence had well-done pink ponies and butterflies, I think I'd be ecstatic!

*laughs* each to his own
I was making a bit of a comment across the board there. Much of graffiti is badly drawn scrawl if the stuff seen in my area is any indication. No this isn't the worst I've ever seen, but not everyone would like it on their back wall either.

well I'm also sorry that art to you can only mean a drawing of a horse or a picture of sealife, or vice-versa.

Not at all, you obviously haven't read my other comments re commisioned graffiti art . As for my stuff, I don't force it down others throats by plastering it to the walls of their property without permission. There's a difference.
