Ok people because someone asked nicely, I made my first tutorial for Max. It covers simple meshsmooth modeling, and a few other things. I hope this helps everyone a little.Oh yeah please if you download please dont forget to comment about what you think, if you don't comment I won't know whats wrong with it so I cant fix it.

I didn't use the tutorial directly, but I was inspired to make something similar using a 3D-modeling program I love and have been using for 10 years, Rhinoceros 2.0, and Photoshop CS (for textures, bump maps and post-render special effects).

Umm not to be mean or anything but on the first step it said keep doing that until it looks like that. But you never showed what it was supposed to look like. I could not figure out how to do a spline either. This is very hard to understand... but the tutorail is cool.. i juz wish it was written so I could understand it.

no worries, Appologies for the ambiguity but its was my first one and yuo are one of the few people to comment on something that I need to improve. Thanks. As for the spline thing. Well I thought that this was a simple thing, but here goes under the create panel, select shapes -> line. Create your line and the smooth it or beizer it. Hope this helps.

ooooh hope this shows how to do the texture been looking for a texture like this for a while... just to have really as my 3DS skills are pants.

And, yes, you could say it is a neural cell, though DEFINETELY not human. And not a funtioning one. I can see the dendrites, but where's the axon? It cannot transmit any neural activity without it.. And besides, where do you suppose to find a lonely neuron? This one could be junctioned to a muscle or a gland, though
Erm... But it definetely looks like a micro-organism of some sort. And this was not an attack agains this magnificient tutorial, it's just that I've been reading anatomy the past five weeks and I couldn't help posting this.. Sorry

Looks exactly as a sweep electronic microscope image... wonderful... even can say that is a kind of neural cell, not human...
I think is great. The choice of colors is what makes it so wonderful.
