Actually, I wrote "Musketoon", not musket. According to Wikipedia: "The musketoon is a shorter-barrelled version of the musket, and served in the roles of a shotgun or carbine."
And there are, or rather were, lever-action muskets. Winchester made a 1873 Lever-Action Musket (www.horsesoldier.com/products/… ).
