I must have briefly passed out when I stumbled and fell. The rest of my group had gone on, leaving me behind. Those assholes. I wandered around the old temple, but couldn't find any trace of them. Hell, I couldn't even figure out where I was! I didn't recognize these corridors at all. They weren't on any of our maps!
I spotted a strange greenish glow coming from one side passage. I turned down it, and the corridor was lined with strange crystal-like pillars that were responsible for the weird lighting. I had no clue what they were made of, but it wasn't anything on this Earth.
Dozens of meters on, the corridor turned.
She stood there, evidently expecting me. Strips of fabric swirled about her in an impossible breeze.
"You've made it this far," she said. "So you are worthy enough that I shouldn't destroy you outright. Probably.... But do you deserve to continue?"
