Description
A cleaner version of my last upload ( fav.me/d6somfz ). Based on i1.ytimg.com/vi/ha3T758XAjE/ma⦠, which was a frame from the television show, The Simpsons. Also, I suck at drawing cameras
Edit: HOLY COW, how did this wind up on ESPN? I'm so weirded out, and yet so thrilled at the same time! LOOK! youtube.com/watch?v=KIq9f3kW1c⦠It happens at about 3:07.

Everything on Keith Olbermann's old channel is no longer available for some reason. Since I always hate to let a good piece of snark goes to waste, here's the comment I left on the video.
The top ten repercussions of the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight:
10. Shikieiki Yamaxanadu apologizes to Marisa Kirisame for giving her crap about pirating the telecast.
9. Cirno proudly declares that she can clobber both of those bums because she's the strongest.
8. Ichirin Kumoi tries to placate fans by making a video showing "what an aggressive puncher is capable of".
7. Nitori Kawashiro ferociously denies supplying any of the cable equipment.
6. Tenshi Hinanawi now seriously reconsidering her stance on fighting as a means of alleviating boredom.
5. Alice Margatroid's "slightly embellished" doll reenactment way more popular than the real thing.
4. Aya Shameimaru vows to get revenge for Rachel Nichols and Michelle Beadle by taking photos of Mayweather in his underwear.
3. Reimu Hakurei really, really, REALLY wants in on this racket.
2. Unsuccessful attempt by Keine Kamishirasawa to erase the Marquis of Queensberry from history.
1. Promoters beg Seija Kijin to become boxing commissioner and give lots of public speeches about the fight, the process of making title fights, and the state of boxing in general; say she can name her price.

Maybe ESPN was looking online to find what ever stupid looking cameraman picture they could use in one of their shows. Sometimes major businesses will do that just to get some entertainment. Like what Fox did for its Simpsons couch gag contest.

My best guess is their graphics team got on DeviantArt and searched "technical difficulties." Β This comes up pretty high in the results.

Not to my knowledge. If I had to guess, it was the most unrecognizable, yet similar image to the Simpsons one that nobody would try to sue over it.

Hey, cool, congrats on...er...being noticed. Hey, more than I ever got.
I do feel compelled to add that if I knew that one of my drawings was going to end up on national television, I would've gone with someone like Sakuya, Byakuren, Youmu, Utsuho, Seiga, Meiling, or Alice...y'know, one of the beautiful characters.Β I'd be a little concerned about how mainstream sports-watching America would take a flat-chested skinny-armed loli with a couple of branch things sticking out of her head.Β But that's just me.

Did anyone contact you about using it, or did it just happen? I really want to know who personally was responsible for getting this onto ESPN

Daemoniken In reply to fumblemuffin [2015-05-13 02:24:14 +0000 UTC]
It just happened, I have no information myself regarding who was responsible for this image being displayed.
Nobody said anything to me. No messages, PMs, anything. It was just shoved in there after what I'm almost sure was just a quick Google search. I want to know just as badly who put it on ESPN for those brief seconds.

I heard the about the ESPN ordeal recently, to say that this was a shocker would be an vast understatement. I find it amazing that this image was spawned from BleachBummer 's livestreams too, it's come a long way from that certainly.
But I admit that I would've never expected Touhou fanart to make its way onto the news, let alone from someone I've known personally in the Walfas community, but I'm happy for you either way Daemoniken, congratulations.

Thanks! I certainly didn't expect it, either, but it also not something I'm gonna complain about. Far from it. I am hoping this little ego boost of mine will propel me to drawing way more often than I have been.
