Context;

Tocka.

If you know, you know.

I've said this a billion times in the past - that I'd retire from Gmodding and Deviant Art. In a weird way, I kinda/sorta did; the many hiatus, the upload droughts... It was all nonverbal, because it's the only language I could really communicate in.

Yet I always returned at some point and I'd upload something. I don't have a clear idea why this reoccurs, such as right now. I only ever have an image - a moving picture of better times, playing in my head...

It's like a childhood place that you pass by on your way to a different destination; a place of fond memories you can't help but stop and see how everyone that remains is doing.

... But then those good memories lead you into the bad ones.

I'm actually retiring from Gmod, like, for real. The steam workshop can just straight-up delete addons from your computer, and if you're someone like me who takes forever to get anything done, then that's a project killer right there (which, it has single-handedly killed three of, overnight).

I'm not one to speak of the future. The future is very rarely ever concrete, and even concrete can crack and break.

The world changes faster than I can ever adapt, and hiding under a rock isn't the solution either - choosing to ignore the world is not an option, for there is never a guarantee the world will ignore you - rather, it plays into the advantage of wicked people who can exploit such negligence...

... Neither is there a paradise for us to escape to.

Only you can help yourself, so do that! If you rely on other people to help you, you're relying on the altruism or selflessness of other people, but like a gas tank in a tanking economy, it's gonna run dry, and you will be viewed as a parasite. Don't believe me? Go ahead and try it - don't pay your bills, don't go out of your way for other people, don't even feed yourself, in the name of "proving me wrong".

See how long you last off of other people's good instead of your own - sucking it from others, proving my very point, but that's not what I'm here to say.

The reasons for my absence, shockingly remains the same as it has for many years: Outside interference, job-hopping, paying bills, typical IRL stuff.

Everything ends and it's always sad, but things also have a beginning as well. It's easy to forget the good in a time of evil and vice versa...

But Even if we somehow, successfully, painstakingly recreated the entire world in the image we remembered it, recovering everything we lost... Things still won't go back to how they were.

I'm not saying we shouldn't fight for the things we know will inevitably end - on the contrary. We should prepare ourselves for when we inevitably need to fight for what good things we have.

Human rights... freedom... individual value... these are RECENT developments, yet everyone seems almost too eager to forget they even exist! If you refuse to fight or be willing to fight for what is good, you WILL loose it. Pacifism in the face of a belligerent aggressor is not an option that ever ends well.

And even here, I'm not saying war is good. No! War is not good, but it is also INEVITABLE. War is controlled violence for an authority to get what it wants - even if it has to wage it against it's own people, postponed to the advantage of people that want it - that are planning for it.

Which leads to what I DO want to say; Always be prepared for conflict, because the people that hate you are never going to challenge you when they're weak.

I am The Frontline Specter: Not seen, yet present.

Have a good life, hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and never let the next generation look down on you.
