Description
Superman is ™ and © DC Comics. All Intellectual Rights Reserved.I was practicing my anatomy the night before this submission, and looking at the pose, my only goal was to create an anatomic style with a good sense of proportion. I never meant to draw Superman, but when I cleaned his face, it kinda looked like him. So I started thinking, how would I draw the Man of Steel my way?
The costume was based on the design I saw on Justice League Unlimited series, the 'S' a combination of the original symbol and that of the design in Kingdom Come.

Dude. Bro. This is fantastic!! I am behind this take on the iconic costume 100% as a huge Superman fan and so horribly picky (personally) when it comes to reworkings of the costume that I associate my all-time favorite hero with. I really really like the way this looks, especially how the S-Shield and cape just like melt into one from chest to over the shoulders, it reminds me a lot of the old costume the original Supergirl had during the Crisis timeline when she died saving Superman. I'd love to a colored version of this!

I really like the anatomy work in this, it gives a great sense of his stature and with a confidence you would expect from the character. The linework is lovely and the muscle definition works well with just the small marks you've made. Would make a very effective Superman and modern enough to appeal to today's sensibilities.

Two for the Bats. I do think I like him better than the Man of Steel, only because I have more Batman figures then I do Superman figures on my desk.
I might just do a Batman pic one of these days...

I simply love his face !! Very good job on all - but the face is simply - somewhat more appealing as charming, real and friendly - probably the new haircut helps a bit too ^-^ This piece will be grand once colored

mmm.. I can see your style in there. Though if I had to crit on superman himself , the cheek bones are too defined for superman. Lol
But mm, Its good

That is sweet.
Real nice work anatomically speaking; I could never pull that off. And yeah, the costume is nice, but nothing beats a classic.

I thought I recognized that design for Supes. I've always preferred the "Justice Lord" version of Superman in that episode, the white really suited him. You planning on coloring this one? It looks interesting, kind of like a younger, hipper Superman.

I don't actually know yet if I'll finish this one. Like i said, the only purpose of this drawing was an exercise on male anatomy, drawing Superman is just an accident. Maybe i'll draw a slightly different version and color that.

also that was a freakin great comic if i do say so myself. Kingdom Come won like how many awards? 3? but its 'sequel' was not very good though. 'The Kingdom' was part too and i was a let down a bit. now what i want to read is 'Red Son of Krypton'. where it shows what happened if Superman landed in Russia instead of the US. also shows WonderWoman doing the same and Batman as well. i hear Luthor is actually the good guy and he found the green lantern ring Hal Jorden was suposed to find and made copies of it.

Nice work! I like how you incorporated the Justice Lord look in but moderated it and got a very "streamlined" look to him. Well done!

I like it allot man. I like the fact his hair is more modern than that flat look with the curl, now I think that works well for his Clark Kent persona, but superman is cool, and this friggin' drawing rocks. Major Kudo's.

I rather prefer to see Superman is this type of costume. This new costume is better than having red underwear on the outside. This is how Superman is meant to be represented.

Thank you.
Remember that Superman was designed in 1938, and ever since then artists have been trying to re-design him over the decades. Though a new costume of Superman may be a good thing to do once in a while, you have to admit; there's nothing like a classic.
