As if to herald the homecoming of the newest residents of Hawkheart Stables, a light snow fell early in the morning on they day they were scheduled to arrive.

The large beast shook and stretched its wings as it stepped off of the livestock trailer that Teagan had hired to transport it from the airport to the stables. Ari had been greeted enthusiastically by everyone at Hawkheart Stables, and they all stood in awe as he lead his charge out of the trailer. He had only just arrived himself, as he had insisted on traveling with the beast the entire way. Teagan had learned that the two were not easily separated, and she was more than happy to have Ari moving into the loft above the barn so that they could be near each other. The winged horse pricked his ears with interest as he looked around, seemingly more interested in the landscape than the people gawking at him with wide eyes.

"This is Arngeirr, everyone. But I call him Tryggr. You can call him Tryggr too." Ari beamed with pride as he introduced his Stallion.

The following morning Ari awoke at dawn. Tryggr nickered happily at him as he climbed down the ladder. After wiping the sleep from his eyes he checked the stallion over one last time for any signs of stress from the long trip. Nothing. Ari smiled. He felt great, and it seemed like Tryggr did too. After a thorough grooming and a bucket of oats, Ari haltered Tryggr and lead him out of the barn. It had snowed again, and his breath clouded around him in the cold morning air. He lead Tryggr away from the barn and into the meadow on the other side of the property. Scratching the stallion affectionately behind the ears, he removed the halter and dropped it on the ground. Tryggr tossed his head and snorted, but his feet stayed firmly planted on the ground. Suddenly Ari let out a huge "whoop" and took of running. Tryggr leapt into the air and kicked out, then wheeled after Ari.

Teagan was wandering towards the barn when she heard Ari's shout. She stopped in her tracks and turned towards the meadow. She held her breath for a moment as she watched the boy and his stallion playing together. Both moved with an aire of strength and grace, the stallions feet barely touching the ground as his wings arched gracefully overhead.

Teagan just stood there and watched. She had never seen anything quite like it.
