Don't worry, don't break your back on getting one now, you might regret it if you face the holiday rush as it is now. I have a Wii...but right now, its catching dust...wait for really good games to come out, like Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros...those 2 titles I am definetely getting.

Still tho... The Virtual Console is one of the main reasons for me to buy it... Sweet, sweet memories ((:

You have to have Wifi to actually get the Virtual console...and so far, they have games that you'd get in a re-make. So far for the SNES, there's Simcity and some other game...most of the games available I have played and past. But there is a good 20 games out for all the old systems for the Virtual console.
I wanted to get the Wii for this purpose too, but in the end, I was a little disappointed. Hopefully the good games will come out, there are new releases every month.
