***Absolute - a divine spark of inspiration
Absolute - beyond human control
Absolute - complete, infinite and unconditional
Embraced by Ars, the Artist turns into stone and becomes Ars himself, melting with Her into Unity. Or, maybe, Her touch brings the petrified Artist to life, since he cannot achieve full humanity without Her blessing.
Ars, subtle as She is, has a power over the artist, who is helpless and dependant, although rewarded with a laurel wreath. In his suffering he knows that the golden crown is a burden. As much as he would like to break free, he is not able to escape from this slavery. Alone, he cannot exist, so his soul is riven between pain and happiness, protest and devotion. Only united with Ars he can come to the complete and perfect entity - Absolute.

Kinda reminds me of the story were a greek artist saw Aphrodite and did his best to make a woman nearly as beautiful as she. Aphrodite agreed and modeled for him. When the statue was complete he despaired that he could not love anything more than his creation so he begged Aphrodite to turn him to stone to be with his creation. Instead she turns his creation real, giving him his beautiful wife.

Wow... Beautiful painting and concept. Your note really adds meaningfullness to things the viewer might not get otherwise -- his lower body turning to stone, and the part of him that's still alive bleeding from the burden of bearing his prized laurel. Ars' hair is gorgeous!

So bueaful. make's me think of Adam & Eve for some reason. I guess its becouse they are so close together that it looks like she is coming out of him. God did create Eve useing a rib from Adam.
