Description
This started as a mindless doodle, but before I knew it the drawing turned into this rocky mountain peak, and an hour later I had painted the beginning of an epic scene. I just love drawing those rocks.

Anyway, having some fun with realism. I just visited the renovated Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, which has a stunning exhibition of old art. The majority of the collection spans the periods from Medieval to Romantic art. Being immersed in all these paintings masterfully emulating the real world may have left a bit of an impression.
