Hiro kept running, his feet a blur as he sped over the surface, hardly caring where he was, just knowing that he had to keep moving. He scarcely noticed the walls, beyond looking for doors or entrances to other hallways. He skidded to a stop suddenly, looking through a doorway eyes wide. The walls were dilapidated, the bed was mildewed, and it was a general mess, but he knew that he recognized the room. It still had a poster, very much mildewed, of a famous tennis player in the exact spot he'd left it. This is my room! What's my city doing here!?

Some explanation is necessary. You see, in Joren, where Hiro is from, monsters travel freely throughout the world. In order to protect their citizens, they built their cities inside pyramids, with a special material that would transfer sunlight down to the caverns below, to nurture their crops. Generally speaking, the fortress's were nigh impenetrable, though few left their sanctuary to journey the world. Hiro was one of those few.

Hiro walked out of his family's dorm chambers, wandering down the hallway towards where he remembered the shopping district was. The stalls were all broken down, with no sign that they had been used within the last century. "How much time has passed since I last saw these I wonder..." He swallowed down the memories that had been trying to force themselves to the forefront and kept wandering. "I can't afford to let myself get distracted, not with that naga after me..." He neared the top of the pyramid, gazing at the door with the odd lock. Something, some memory, kept tugging at his mind as he stared at the lock before something clicked. Isn't that the same shape as this thing i've been carrying? he stared at the thing he'd fired at Anna with. For a lack of anything better to try, he tried to set it in the door and open it, but for some reason it wouldn't go. "Damn..."

"There you are! You're mine now cat!" he felt the naga and immediately jumped to the side, wincing at the report as Anna's hand crashed through the door, completely leveling it.

"This could be trouble..."
