Movie 5-18
Chapter 3-5

Nicole: What the hell is that thing?!
Mikaela: I don’t know. It’s not in Dad’s notes. Maybe it wasn’t discovered yet.
Nicole: But it doesn’t seem natural.
Mikaela: Maybe it’s an alien like King Ghidorah?
Nicole: How about we don’t stick around to find out?

   The girls get on Nicole’s motorcycle and ride off into the city as the now 80-meter-tall Hedorah slowly lumbers forward, devouring everything in its path. The sight is a terrifying one: pieces of the Smog Monster fall to the ground, corroding everything it touches, melting steel, concrete, and flesh. There is nothing left of the human victims but bone. Sulfuric acid mist also sprays from the creature’s orifices, polluting the air and suffocating the people.

Samuel: We need to leave the city. It’s getting hard to breathe. Once we get out of the smog, we’re calling the GRF to get rid of that thing.

   Suddenly, an echoing cry sounds from the jungle. The mountain gives way, and a new Kaiju breaks out of the cave. It was more than half the size of Hedorah, was black and red. It resembled an insect with long forelimbs, smaller limbs on the waist, and two back legs. It had a beak-like snout with a split jaw and compound eyes, and a huge pair of wings. It cries out, sending fleeing people the other way.

Mikaela: I think that’s a Jinshin-Mushi.
Nicole: A what?
Samuel: A creature in ancient Japanese mythology. An American cryptid group I was once part of called it M.U.T.O., or “Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism”.
Nicole: I’m calling an air strike.

   Before she can, the MUTO slams its forelimbs down, creating an EMP burst that knocks out all electronics, including the trio’s.

Nicole: EMP burst. My devices are dead. We’re on our own for a while.
Mikaela: Wait. It’s not a coincidence this MUTO is responding to Hedorah. Maybe it senses it as a threat to its territory.
Nicole: In that case, let’s get the hell out of here.

   As the trio leaves, the MUTO swoops down and starts attacking Hedorah. Despite being burnt by its sludge, the MUTO keeps on clawing the sludge beast with its barbed forelimbs. Hedorah seems to have the edge, releasing acid sludge balls and deadly red lasers from its eyes. Suddenly, a new MUTO appears behind Hedorah and attacks. This one is twice as big as the smaller one, and instead of wings, it has a larger set of clawed forelimbs.

Nicole: Another MUTO? It looks different than the other. And it’s helping the other one.
Mikaela: They may be a mated pair. Sexual dimorphism in animals is not uncommon. We see it a lot in birds, and even people.

   The two MUTO’s continue to tear Hedorah to pieces, but each time a wound is inflicted, he heals instantly, and they are burned to the bone even more. Hedorah suddenly floats in the air and spins around, releasing acid spray and sludge balls, suffocating and burning the MUTO’s. As they struggle to get up, Hedorah’s body opens up into an entire mouth full of teeth and consumes the entire male MUTO! The female watches in horror as her winged mate is eaten alive. Hedorah then grows 100 meters in height. It leaves to seek more pollution, and the female MUTO rests, too exhausted to pursue her lover’s assassin.

   On board the Argo II, Fubuki and Rebecca had been watching the carnage on the news through their monitor. They are both shocked and appalled by what they had just unleashed onto the world.

Fubuki: Well, ain’t that a bitch?
Rebecca: Tell me, Fubuki, when you said “problem solved”, is this even close to what you had in mind?
Fubuki: Cut the crap, Rebecca. This mess is hardly my fault.
Rebecca: Well it sure as hell wasn’t mine!
Fubuki: Oh really? You were the one suffocating it to death with oxygen!
Rebecca: And you’re the one who thought it was a good idea to give it fucking steroids!

   As the two bicker, a left over piece of Hedrium crawls towards them, growing into a new Hedorah. It lets out a gurgling cry, getting the terrorists’ attention. The two scream and flee, locking themselves tightly in a room. After trying to break in, the Hedorah leaves to search for easier prey.

Rebecca: That was close. Is this how the Sixth Extinction is going to end?
Fubuki: If it is, then you and I go out together.
Rebecca: I remember how I joined. My brother and I were at Tokyo as Godzilla destroyed it. I was trapped in a building, but did he help me out? No, the bastard abandoned me. I haven’t seen him since, but I think he died. I spent the next few years on the streets, begging for scraps, then you and Jablonsky found me and took me in.
Fubuki: I’m kind of on the same boat. My parents’ relationship was falling apart, they were unhappy, but I still believed we could be happy. I tried to help them be happy, but we were no longer the loving family I grew up with. They gave up happiness, and eventually, I did too… I wished for them to go away. In 2020, I got my wish, when Godzilla came. He stepped on our house, and I was the only survivor. I don’t know if I should mourn them or forget them, but aside from giving Earth back to the Kaiju, the one thing I want is someone who cared for me, who shared my pain.
Rebecca: That’s why you have me, Fubucakes. When the world is ours, we can heal together.

   She cups his cheek, wiping a tear off his cheek, and he smiles, then they share a passionate kiss. After that, they look out the window of their door, and nothing is out there. They come out, tiptoeing quietly to make sure the new Hedorah doesn’t hear them. Fubuki and Rebecca then bump into something just as scary: Ivan, with an angered look. They jump in surprise.

Ivan: Would either of you like to tell me what the hell is going on?
Fubuki: Um, sure. Absolutely nothing, Boss.
Rebecca: All is quiet, too quiet. One could even say dull.
Ivan: Funny, because oxygen levels in the Argo have been dropping, and some of my men are calling in sick.
Fubuki: I’ll handle this, babe… WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!
Rebecca: Calm down, you idiot!
Fubuki: Rebecca and I were giving the Hedrium oxygen to calm it down, but it was killing it. So we injected it with Godzilla cells. It didn’t heal it; it created a monstrous mutation that is now on the verge of suffocating every living thing on this goddamn planet!!
Ivan: I know this is excuse to get me to use the Hedrium already, Fubuki, but I made it clear I am using Kaiju until it is fully ready!

   As Jablonsky scolds them, the Hedorah appears behind him. Fubuki and Rebecca take notice and point nervously, but Jablonsky doesn’t notice yet.

Fubuki: Uh, Jablonsky?
Ivan: Don’t interrupt me, you imbecile! These plans are carefully coordinated, and I will not allow you to fuck everything up. You will do exactly as you are told!

   He hears the Hedorah behind him and turns around. Although surprised, he calmly presses a button that causes a tractor beam to snatch the Hedorah and eject it out of the ship. He then turns back to Fubuki and Rebecca.

Fubuki: We did try to tell you.
Rebecca: Now do you believe us?

   The Hedorah latches onto the Argo and starts feeding on the exhaust, growing bigger until he jumps off, now 100 meters tall. He lands in Fiji, sending everyone there in a panicked state. Hedorah feeds on the G-Energy Generator there, but then the water in the ocean nearby bubbles. A whirlpool forms and disappears, and then a new Kaiju emerges. It is several meters taller than Godzilla, and it resembles a Spinosaurus with red skin, blue and green markings, tall fins on its head and back, muscular limbs with sharp claws, an elongated snout, and a massive finned tail more than half the animal’s length. It cries out, sounding as if a lion and elephant sounded off together, then it sets its eyes on Hedorah.

Fubuki: Was this why you were coming to Fiji?
Ivan: You think I was going there on vacation?
Rebecca: Titanosaurus. Discovered by Dr. Mafune in 1975. And it seems he’s coming to fight the Hedorah. And the creature from the Philippines fought the other one too, so it may come here.
Fubuki: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. And I’ll bet Godzilla’s gonna fly all the way here.
Ivan: Enough. Your fate will depend on Hedorah’s fate.
Rebecca: What?
Fubuki: Um?
Ivan: Why are you still here?! Lead a team to help eradicate this creation of yours immediately!

   Fubuki and Rebecca gather forces to battle Hedorah. As the Smog Monster squares off with Titanosaurus, the female MUTO then arrives, having recovered enough for another fight, but Titanosaurus doesn’t attack her. Meanwhile, the first Hedorah is heading for Fiji, with Godzilla in hot pursuit…
