Plot:
-After 60 years of absence, Godzilla returns once again to wreak havoc in response to a discovery that should never have been made.

Yet another shipwreck has been reported. This time, off the coast of Hokkaido. Masato and Natsumi have been sent to examine the scene. Natsumi leads the way into the surprisingly intact boat, with Masato close by. Both are on edge, feeling whatever did this might still be around. The only noticeable damage appears to be tiny clawmarks made into the steel.

Masato: This shipwreck's different from the others. It was in the same area, but it looks like it managed to barely make it out.
Natsumi: If that's true, then where's the crew?
Masato: Maybe they abandoned ship? We should keep searching for survivors.
Natsumi: You know, Ishimaru, you have strong instincts. I like that.

They continue searching around. They find a partially open door that leads to the bridge. Natsumi prepares to go in, but Masato stops her, gesturing that it might be safer if he takes a look inside first. Taking his gun, Masato enters the room, only to find himself absolutely horrified.

Masato: Good Lord!!
Natsumi: What? What's in ther- Oh my God!

The two GDF personnel have found dead bodies scattered everywhere. All of them appear to have been sucked dry. They looked around. The stench of the rotting bodies made Natsumi gag a little. They wondered what on Earth could have done something so repulsive to those men and women. As they continued to search, they found a man who is seemingly intact. When they lean down, he wakes up with a gasp, startling them to the point where they point their guns at him. He tries to get up, but he falls. Masato is able to catch him, and they lay him down. He notices his name tag says "Tomohisa". That's Chiba's surname.

Masato: Mr. Tomohisa?
Natsumi: What happened?
Mr. Tomohisa: We were fishing... then a giant monster rose from the ocean. It looked like a dinosaur with leaf-shaped spikes on its back, and it breathed blue fire. We managed to escape in time, but something else attacked. Giant bugs... from the monster. We couldn't penetrate their armor... I survived for three hours, but I'm pretty cut up badly... tell my son Chiba I love him...
Masato: You can tell him yourself. Ishimaru to GDF, we found a survivor. We request immediate medical attention.

As they help him up, they hear a shrilling sound nearby. Suddenly, Tomohisa is pounced by what looks like a gigantic louse. He screams as the beast pierces his neck with its mandibles, sucking his fluids. Masato and Natsumi fire on the parasite, but its armored shell prevents any damage, so it continues to feed. Once it is done, it goes for Natsumi, but Masato pounces it, prompting it to try and kill him now. He holds it by the mandibles, trying to keep it from getting into his flesh. Natsumi takes the advantage to grab a nearby axe and drive it into an exposed soft part in the back. Spraying black blood, the parasite shrills and twitches until it succumbs to its wound. More GDF soldiers arrive at the scene, seeing the dead parasite and Mr. Tomohisa's corpse.

The bodies have been taken back to the base for study. After spending an hour examining both of them, Dr. Shinohara gives his report to reveal the identify of the creature, and quite possibly, the ship's attacker.

Genko: It's an Isopus okamura... a Shockirus.
Ryoji: A what-now?
Genko: It's a parasite that has evolved as a result of Godzilla's radiaiton. We've dealt with them before. The ships that survived near encounters with him in '54 were attacked by these giant sea lice. Therefore, I'm afraid that Ishimaru's suspicions of a second Godzilla are valid.
Ryoji: In that case, we need to send submarine search parties around Japan. What of Mr. Tomohisa.
Keiko: We're taking him to the morgue. Chiba didn't take his passing well.

Masato is sent flying back from a punch to the face delivered by Chiba, much to the surprise of Natsumi and Mayu. Masato tries to get back up but stumbles, wiping the blood from his nose. He and Natsumi have had to tell Chiba about his father. Mayu and Natsumi look at one another with concern as Chiba shakes his hand due to the force of the punch.

Chiba: You could have saved my dad, Ishimaru! But you let him die to a goddamn bug!
Masato: There wasn't anything else we could have done, Chiba. I'm sorry.

Enraged, Chiba goes in for another swing, but Natsumi grabs his arm and holds it tight, causing him to shout out in pain. Mayu gasps in shock.

Natsumi: That's enough, Tomohisa. We did what we could.

After a moment of silence, Chiba jerks his hand away and storms off. Reluctantly, Mayu joins him. Once they are gone, Natsumi helps Masato up.

Natsumi: Thanks for saving me back there, Masato.
Masato: *blushing* No problem.
Natsumi: So what's up with you and Chiba?
Masato: We've had somewhat of a friendly rivalry since school. He envies me since I tend to be a step ahead of him often, and I don't like to brag. Now I think he hates me.
Natsumi: It wasn't your fault. We didn't see that Shockirus coming. Chiba can be arrogant at time. In the short time I've known you, you seem pretty humble.
Masato: I've been taught a couple manners. Anyway, I think the GDF is going to take more precautions. These shipwrecks match the 1954 ones.
Natsumi: Will there really be another Godzilla.
Masato: Maybe, but I can't be sure at this time. But considering the similarities, it's a good possibility.
Natsumi: We should get going. Monster Zero is arriving at the anniversary place for base transportation tomorrow. Even if Godzilla returns, our forces are now equipped with weapons that are far more advanced than anything we've had before.

The next day, people have gathered at Nemuro, Hokkaido to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first Godzilla attack. A track system has been implemented for Monster Zero's arrival. Maser weapons and other GDF units stand guard to keep an eye for danger and to keep the crowd at a safe distance. For extra precautions, Ryoji has requested for the robot Jet Jaguar to be present. The robot flies into the scene, then changes size to 95 meters in height. Ryoji, Keiko, Manzo, and Genko all observe the arrival of the mummified Kaiju from their VTOL. Ryoji contacts the younger recruits.

Ryoji: Ishimaru, Fujiwara, this is Commander Taguchi. All you guys need to do is stand there and look pretty.
Masato: Copy that, sir.
Natsumi: My God, look at the size of that thing.
Mayu: They brought this all the way from Antarctica?
Chiba: And how did people flip from this?
Masato: The GDF is in full effect, so things should be fine.

The groups watch as Monster Zero is slowly being transported across the city. People from the crowd look in awe at the mummy. No one had ever seen a Kaiju like this before. Suddenly, they hear the sound of birds calling out. Masato and Natsumi look up to see huge flocks of birds flying away from the sea. This meant that something had disturbed them. Jet Jaguar's sensors suddenly beap, having detected a Kaiju signature coming from the nearby sea. He sends an alert to the personnel in the air and on the ground.

Keiko: Sir, Jet Jaguar has picked up a Kaiju signature approaching Nemuro. Category 4.
Ryoji: This is going to be a long day. All GDF personnel, get civilians to the underground bunkers immediately. We have a Category 4 Kaiju incoming, and fast.
Chiba: A Kaiju here?
Mayu: Guys, I see it!

They look to the horizon and see three rows of spines piercing the water, crashing through a cruse ship. VTOL's fire at it, prompting a massive reptilian tail to emerge from the water, swatting one of them out of the sky. Then the water swells and rises, splashing people nearby. A shadow looms over them, blocking out the sun... it's a huge dinosaur-like creature, like a cross between Tyrannosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Iguanodon, with some vague crocodilian and aquatic traits. It has red blazing eyes with yellow glowing. In its mouth is a submarine, which it crunches in half with a single bite. Everyone watches in horror... it's a Kaiju no one had ever thought to see again... the petrified Masato could only say one word...

Masato: Godzilla...

As soon as Godzilla lets out his deafening roar, mass panic floods Nemuro. GDF agents try to calm them down and escort them to the underground shelters, but instead, they are met with a stampede driven by complete fear, like rabbits fleeing from a fox. As Godzilla moves further inland, buildings are destroyed, and many people are trampled to death. The GDF tries to keep him at bay, but nothing seems to work, not even with their advanced technology. He makes a beeline for the transport carrying Monster Zero. Jet Jaguar rushes in to block him off.

Masato: Why is it going for Monster Zero?
Chiba: Hell if I know, but we need to get the heck outta here!

The four prepare to leave the area. Jet Jaguar does his best to hold off Godzilla, but the Kaiju is more powerful, pushing him into a building. As it crumbles, a helicopter pad falls down, but Jet Jaguar is able to catch it before it can crush Chiba and Mayu. As the two pairs get separate and run off in different directions, Jet Jaguar throws the helicopter pad at Godzilla like a frisbee, knocking him back a bit. Chiba and Mayu get into an underground bunker as Godzilla recovers and charges. Jet Jaguar throws a punch in the face, then prepares a second punch, but Godzilla grabs him by his hand and crushes it with his strength. He then kicks Jet Jaguar into the building. The reptilian monster bites into his shoulder. In response, the robot dlashes his eyes, blinding the beast briefly. Jet Jaguar then uses martial arts on his opponent.

Masato: I'm surprised Jet Jaguar's still got it.
Natsumi: What do you mean?
Masato: He's been in GDF's service since 1973.
Natsumi: Goro Ibuki should have suggested some weapons ideas then!

Jet Jaguar then grabs Godzilla by the head, and jumps in the air with him, doing a flip before dropping him. Jet Jaguar lands gracefully to examine his fallen opponent. He gives the VTOL carrying his commanders a thumbs up to indicate the job is done. But then, Godzilla's massive tail swings in knocking Jet Jaguar far away. He crashes into a building near Masato and Natsumi, who run for cover. Natsumi then falls and strains her ankle. She screams in pain, forcing Masato to go back for her.

Natsumi: Ow!
Masato: You alright?
Natsumi: I strained my ankle!
Masato: Ishimaru to GDF, Fujiwara is hurt. I need an urgent retrieval ASAP!

The robot gets up, sparks flying from where it was hit. As it recovers, they see blue light eminating from Godzilla's spikes and eyes. They can hear an eerie sound as if something is charging up. Suddenly, Godzilla unleashes a blast of atomic fire from his mouth, devastating Jet Jaguar even further, along with several nearby buildings. Masato sees falling debris and uses his own body to shield Natsumi, sustaining a few injuries himself. As the robot lies defeated, Godzilla continues following the Monster Zero transport. Masato gets his first aid kit and starts treating Natsumi's leg.

Natsumi: You protected me...
Masato: I contacted the bosses. They're on their way. Until then, we have to stay put.
Natsumi: Masato...
Masato: With your injury, we can't run from Godzilla, much less walk.

The ground shakes. They look up in horror as Godzilla comes closer and closer. Fear overcomes them both, rendering them unable to move as he comes close to crushing them underfoot. He stops, preparing to fire a blast at the Monster Zero cargo. Suddenly, he hears a strange sonar ping and turns to see the VTOL, which has activated an ORCA caller, a device designed to lure Kaiju to certain locations. Godzilla follows the VTOL into the sea, until he disappears beneath the waves. A GDF team arrives to rescue Masato and Natsumi, and they help the injured Natsumi onboard.

The news of Godzilla's return spreads across the world. Panic spreads and riots flood the streets. Masato, Natsumi, Chiba, and Mayu watch this on the news. Natsumi is in a medical bed to have her injury taken care of, with Masato right beside her. All four of them are silent. Even the chatty Chiba has nothing to say about what had just happened. Ryoji soon enters the room to check in on them, as well as to report the current situation to them.

Ryoji: Monster Zero has been moved to the biology sector of the base, and Jet Jaguar has been taken back for repairs. 35 personnel are dead and 54 are critically injured. We're sweeting the area for Godzilla to determine where he will appear next time. How's your ankle, Natsumi?
Natsumi: I'm a little better, thanks to Ishimaru.
Masato: Did we really kill Godzilla in the 50's, Commander? That thing too everything like it was nothing. Fujiwara and I almost died there. We deserve an answer!

The commander is silent for a few moments. He then gestures at Chiba, who then leaves the room with Mayu. He then locks the door and sighs, sitting on a nearby chair, ready to explain the truth about Godzilla's defeat back then.

Ryoji: 60 years ago, the first Godzilla attack was brought to an end. The beast was killed using the Oxygen Destroyer, an unknown weapon of chemical warfare. Its inventor, Dr. Serizawa, died in the operation and all his records have vanished. Existing weapons at the time were completely useless. The defense forces could do nothing to stop Godzilla. So the government decided to keep the outcome a secret for two reasons: to prevent other countries from seeking out any secrets of Dr. Serizawa that may have survived, and to make Godzilla's defeat Japan's first victory since World War II. If the public knew the truth, then our defense forces would have faced ridicule, hence the need for the utmost secrecy. So I'm relying on your discretion, kid.

Masato and Natsumi sigh. They had never realized that they would face such a stressful situation in their lives.

Masato: I think I need to step out for a little bit. I'm glad you're safe, Fujiwara.
Natsumi: Please, just Natsumi is fine, Masato. I'll be fine.

He smiles before getting up from the bed and leaving the med bay. Masato stops for a moment to pay his respect to those who died in the recent attack. He says a quick prayer before moving on. After going on a walk outside for some fresh air, Masato decides to go down to the lab where Monster Zero is kept. He had never seen such a strange creature, especially one with three heads. He was puzzled why Godzilla would try to destroy it. He heard footsteps behind him... it was Dr. Shinohara, with a report on Monster Zero.

Genko: There you are, Ishimaru? I just finished examining Monster Zero, and you won't believe what I found. Look at this scan of its stomach cavity.
Masato: Is that a dinosaur in its stomach?
Genko: You remember that theory about an asteroid crashing the Earth and killing off the dinosaurs?
Masato: Yeah, why?
Genko: We were wrong. I think this Kaiju caused the Cretaceous extinction. How and why, I don't know yet, but carbon dating puts this at 65 million years BC.
Masato: I see, Doctor.
Genko: Is everything alright?
Masato: I'm fine. I'm just a little stressed.
Genko: Get some rest then. You've had a rough day, yesterday.

Dr. Shinohara leaves to give his report to the council. Masato leans on the railing to look up at Monster Zero again. Although it was in a decayed state, he could make out a few scars and burns on some parts of the body. Clearly, this Kaiju had been through some violent battles. But still, the more he thought about Monster Zero, the less he understood it.

Masato: Why did Monster Zero kill the dinosaurs? And why did Godzilla try to destroy it earlier? I don't understand.
Kara & Kala: The monster is Ghidorah.

Masato jumped upon hearing the two voices. Suddenly, Masato finds himself in a cave with paintings. One of these paintings depicts a three-headed dragon battling what appeared to be an armored butterfly. He then saw a peculiar symbol on a cave, and before it is a stone platform with a butterfly shape carved into it. Suddenly, two small women, both about six inches tall appeared in front of him on the platform. They looked identical, but one was red and the other was blue. Masato knelt down to examine these two miniature women.

Masato: What's going on? Where am I?
Kara & Kala: This is Infant Island. We are Kara and Kala, voices of the Houtua tribe. Please listen, there is something we must tell you, Masato Ishimaru. Heed our warning.
Masato: How did you know m-
Kara & Kala: 65 million years ago, Ghidorah came to Earth to destroy all life upon it. However, the Earth retaliated, and created Gigamoth, who fought bravely against the Dark Lord. Gigamoth then split into two Angels... Mothra, the Angel of Life, and Battra, the Angel of Doom. The story is recorded on the cave wall. Ghidorah may be defeated for now, but his spirit will return and reclaim this body to finish what he started.
Masato: What do you mean?
Kara & Kala: Ghidorah is evil. He will stop at nothing until he destroys this planet. Nothing. Remember, Masato. Only the unity of Earth's guardian Kaiju can defeat him. As long as you remain friends with the Earth, then the Angel of Life will remain your ally.

With that, Masato is suddenly teleported back to the Monster Zero facility. He shakes his head, confused, and trying to process what had just happened.

Masato: What the hell was that? Maybe I was just dreaming. Wait...

He feels something in his hand... a gem with the same symbol on it. As he examines the peculiar gem, he hears the voices of the Houtua again.

Kara & Kala: You must destroy the body of the Dark Lord, or the Death Song of Three Storms will tear the world asunder.

Masato looks at Monster Zero once again. Where once there was confusion, now there is slight dread. If what he had heard is true, then that means he couldn't let this "Ghidorah" rise again.

In space, a massive mothership enters Earth's solar system, setting a course for the planet Earth. This is the Vortaak mothership. They had invaded Earth many times in an attempt to conquer it and subjugate the human race, but each time, the Kaiju of Earth had pushed them back. But this time, the Vortaak queen Velicia has made extreme preparations for an even bigger assault, one that she assumed would cripple the Earth. The Vortaak queen sat in her throne as she watched Earth; her skin was pale, standing out from her purple uniform and silver armor. She wore a crowned helmet and had dark eyes with a yellow glow. Her fingers were elongated claws. She admired the Earth, eager to claim it has part of her empire.

Velicia: At last, my children, the redemption of the Vortaak is at hand... we have risen from the ashes of defeat to reclaim what is rightfully ours; we've come to deliver Earth from the plague of humanity. Our forces are stronger, better equipped; our resolution is deeper than our foes'. Soon, we will reclaim our rightful prize. The pathetic humans and their mutated monstrosities are no match for the deliciously destructive surprise we have in store for them. Soon all will kneel before the terrible wrath of the Vortaak! All units prepare for a full-scale assault! Initiate on my mark!
Vortaak: My queen, we're picking up an unusually strong concentration of energy from within these quarters!

They look around in confusion. Then, without warning, a burst of electricity sets off an explosion, knocking Velicia and her men back. As the smoke clears, they see a figure rising. It is the man-dragon from before. The Vortaak soldiers felt an unusual chill crawling up from their spines as he got up. Calmly, the golden being walks towards Velicia and bows to her in respect.

Velicia: Who are you to intrude into my campaign?!
Lord Ghidrah: A friend... or a foe... that's for you to decide... and why I have sought you out.
Velicia: You were not invited.
Lord Ghidrah: Perhaps this will be more to your liking when I speak. I have a proposal for you.
Velicia: And if I don't want to hear it?
Lord Ghidrah: What harm could come from listening? I propose an alliance. The planet called Earth has something that belongs to me. To reach it, we must band together, and recruit other-like minded races who also seek the Earth. In exchange for returning what is rightfully mine, I will see to it that each of your races claims an even portion of the planet. Stick with me, and you will all be rewarded fairly and handsomely.

The Vortaak queen is silent for a moment. No one had offered her such a deal before. She had tried to conquer Earth so many times but had failed. Perhaps this time, it would make a difference if she accepted. After some thinking, Velicia reaches a decision.

Velicia: It's a deal. All battle units, stand down and await further orders. And send out a call to our allies. The Yog, Simeans, Nebulans, Seatopians, Millennians, and the Xiliens. From now on, we answer to this...
Lord Ghidrah: I am Ghidrah, and you will all be expected to play your part. First, we must test the planet for weaknesses and discover the whereabouts my old weapon.
Velicia: It's curious that someone like you would make yourself known now, on the eve of our historic victory. But no matter. We will all share our prize.

Natsumi: We should get going. Monster Zero is arriving at the anniversary place for base transportation tomorrow. Even if Godzilla returns, our forces are now equipped with weapons that are far more advanced than anything we've had before.

The next day, people have gathered at Nemuro, Hokkaido to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first Godzilla attack. A track system has been implemented for Monster Zero's arrival. Maser weapons and other GDF units stand guard to keep an eye for danger and to keep the crowd at a safe distance. For extra precautions, Ryoji has requested for the robot Jet Jaguar to be present. The robot flies into the scene, then changes size to 95 meters in height. Ryoji, Keiko, Manzo, and Genko all observe the arrival of the mummified Kaiju from their VTOL. Ryoji contacts the younger recruits.

Ryoji: Ishimaru, Fujiwara, this is Commander Taguchi. All you guys need to do is stand there and look pretty.
Masato: Copy that, sir.
Natsumi: My God, look at the size of that thing.
Mayu: They brought this all the way from Antarctica?
Chiba: And how did people flip from this?
Masato: The GDF is in full effect, so things should be fine.

The groups watch as Monster Zero is slowly being transported across the city. People from the crowd look in awe at the mummy. No one had ever seen a Kaiju like this before. Suddenly, they hear the sound of birds calling out. Masato and Natsumi look up to see huge flocks of birds flying away from the sea. This meant that something had disturbed them. Jet Jaguar's sensors suddenly beap, having detected a Kaiju signature coming from the nearby sea. He sends an alert to the personnel in the air and on the ground.

Keiko: Sir, Jet Jaguar has picked up a Kaiju signature approaching Nemuro. Category 4.
Ryoji: This is going to be a long day. All GDF personnel, get civilians to the underground bunkers immediately. We have a Category 4 Kaiju incoming, and fast.
Chiba: A Kaiju here?
Mayu: Guys, I see it!

They look to the horizon and see three rows of spines piercing the water, crashing through a cruse ship. VTOL's fire at it, prompting a massive reptilian tail to emerge from the water, swatting one of them out of the sky. Then the water swells and rises, splashing people nearby. A shadow looms over them, blocking out the sun... it's a huge dinosaur-like creature, like a cross between Tyrannosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Iguanodon, with some vague crocodilian and aquatic traits. It has red blazing eyes with yellow glowing. In its mouth is a submarine, which it crunches in half with a single bite. Everyone watches in horror... it's a Kaiju no one had ever thought to see again... the petrified Masato could only say one word...

Masato: Godzilla...

As soon as Godzilla lets out his deafening roar, mass panic floods Nemuro. GDF agents try to calm them down and escort them to the underground shelters, but instead, they are met with a stampede driven by complete fear, like rabbits fleeing from a fox. As Godzilla moves further inland, buildings are destroyed, and many people are trampled to death. The GDF tries to keep him at bay, but nothing seems to work, not even with their advanced technology. He makes a beeline for the transport carrying Monster Zero. Jet Jaguar rushes in to block him off.

Masato: Why is it going for Monster Zero?
Chiba: Hell if I know, but we need to get the heck outta here!

The four prepare to leave the area. Jet Jaguar does his best to hold off Godzilla, but the Kaiju is more powerful, pushing him into a building. As it crumbles, a helicopter pad falls down, but Jet Jaguar is able to catch it before it can crush Chiba and Mayu. As the two pairs get separate and run off in different directions, Jet Jaguar throws the helicopter pad at Godzilla like a frisbee, knocking him back a bit. Chiba and Mayu get into an underground bunker as Godzilla recovers and charges. Jet Jaguar throws a punch in the face, then prepares a second punch, but Godzilla grabs him by his hand and crushes it with his strength. He then kicks Jet Jaguar into the building. The reptilian monster bites into his shoulder. In response, the robot dlashes his eyes, blinding the beast briefly. Jet Jaguar then uses martial arts on his opponent.

Masato: I'm surprised Jet Jaguar's still got it.
Natsumi: What do you mean?
Masato: He's been in GDF's service since 1973.
Natsumi: Goro Ibuki should have suggested some weapons ideas then!

Jet Jaguar then grabs Godzilla by the head, and jumps in the air with him, doing a flip before dropping him. Jet Jaguar lands gracefully to examine his fallen opponent. He gives the VTOL carrying his commanders a thumbs up to indicate the job is done. But then, Godzilla's massive tail swings in knocking Jet Jaguar far away. He crashes into a building near Masato and Natsumi, who run for cover. Natsumi then falls and strains her ankle. She screams in pain, forcing Masato to go back for her.

Natsumi: Ow!
Masato: You alright?
Natsumi: I strained my ankle!
Masato: Ishimaru to GDF, Fujiwara is hurt. I need an urgent retrieval ASAP!

The robot gets up, sparks flying from where it was hit. As it recovers, they see blue light eminating from Godzilla's spikes and eyes. They can hear an eerie sound as if something is charging up. Suddenly, Godzilla unleashes a blast of atomic fire from his mouth, devastating Jet Jaguar even further, along with several nearby buildings. Masato sees falling debris and uses his own body to shield Natsumi, sustaining a few injuries himself. As the robot lies defeated, Godzilla continues following the Monster Zero transport. Masato gets his first aid kit and starts treating Natsumi's leg.

Natsumi: You protected me...
Masato: I contacted the bosses. They're on their way. Until then, we have to stay put.
Natsumi: Masato...
Masato: With your injury, we can't run from Godzilla, much less walk.

The ground shakes. They look up in horror as Godzilla comes closer and closer. Fear overcomes them both, rendering them unable to move as he comes close to crushing them underfoot. He stops, preparing to fire a blast at the Monster Zero cargo. Suddenly, he hears a strange sonar ping and turns to see the VTOL, which has activated an ORCA caller, a device designed to lure Kaiju to certain locations. Godzilla follows the VTOL into the sea, until he disappears beneath the waves. A GDF team arrives to rescue Masato and Natsumi, and they help the injured Natsumi onboard.

The news of Godzilla's return spreads across the world. Panic spreads and riots flood the streets. Masato, Natsumi, Chiba, and Mayu watch this on the news. Natsumi is in a medical bed to have her injury taken care of, with Masato right beside her. All four of them are silent. Even the chatty Chiba has nothing to say about what had just happened. Ryoji soon enters the room to check in on them, as well as to report the current situation to them.

Ryoji: Monster Zero has been moved to the biology sector of the base, and Jet Jaguar has been taken back for repairs. 35 personnel are dead and 54 are critically injured. We're sweeting the area for Godzilla to determine where he will appear next time. How's your ankle, Natsumi?
Natsumi: I'm a little better, thanks to Ishimaru.
Masato: Did we really kill Godzilla in the 50's, Commander? That thing too everything like it was nothing. Fujiwara and I almost died there. We deserve an answer!

The commander is silent for a few moments. He then gestures at Chiba, who then leaves the room with Mayu. He then locks the door and sighs, sitting on a nearby chair, ready to explain the truth about Godzilla's defeat back then.

Ryoji: 60 years ago, the first Godzilla attack was brought to an end. The beast was killed using the Oxygen Destroyer, an unknown weapon of chemical warfare. Its inventor, Dr. Serizawa, died in the operation and all his records have vanished. Existing weapons at the time were completely useless. The defense forces could do nothing to stop Godzilla. So the government decided to keep the outcome a secret for two reasons: to prevent other countries from seeking out any secrets of Dr. Serizawa that may have survived, and to make Godzilla's defeat Japan's first victory since World War II. If the public knew the truth, then our defense forces would have faced ridicule, hence the need for the utmost secrecy. So I'm relying on your discretion, kid.

Masato and Natsumi sigh. They had never realized that they would face such a stressful situation in their lives.

Masato: I think I need to step out for a little bit. I'm glad you're safe, Fujiwara.
Natsumi: Please, just Natsumi is fine, Masato. I'll be fine.

He smiles before getting up from the bed and leaving the med bay. Masato stops for a moment to pay his respect to those who died in the recent attack. He says a quick prayer before moving on. After going on a walk outside for some fresh air, Masato decides to go down to the lab where Monster Zero is kept. He had never seen such a strange creature, especially one with three heads. He was puzzled why Godzilla would try to destroy it. He heard footsteps behind him... it was Dr. Shinohara, with a report on Monster Zero.

Genko: There you are, Ishimaru? I just finished examining Monster Zero, and you won't believe what I found. Look at this scan of its stomach cavity.
Masato: Is that a dinosaur in its stomach?
Genko: You remember that theory about an asteroid crashing the Earth and killing off the dinosaurs?
Masato: Yeah, why?
Genko: We were wrong. I think this Kaiju caused the Cretaceous extinction. How and why, I don't know yet, but carbon dating puts this at 65 million years BC.
Masato: I see, Doctor.
Genko: Is everything alright?
Masato: I'm fine. I'm just a little stressed.
Genko: Get some rest then. You've had a rough day, yesterday.

Dr. Shinohara leaves to give his report to the council. Masato leans on the railing to look up at Monster Zero again. Although it was in a decayed state, he could make out a few scars and burns on some parts of the body. Clearly, this Kaiju had been through some violent battles. But still, the more he thought about Monster Zero, the less he understood it.

Masato: Why did Monster Zero kill the dinosaurs? And why did Godzilla try to destroy it earlier? I don't understand.
Kara & Kala: The monster is Ghidorah.

Masato jumped upon hearing the two voices. Suddenly, Masato finds himself in a cave with paintings. One of these paintings depicts a three-headed dragon battling what appeared to be an armored butterfly. He then saw a peculiar symbol on a cave, and before it is a stone platform with a butterfly shape carved into it. Suddenly, two small women, both about six inches tall appeared in front of him on the platform. They looked identical, but one was red and the other was blue. Masato knelt down to examine these two miniature women.

Masato: What's going on? Where am I?
Kara & Kala: This is Infant Island. We are Kara and Kala, voices of the Houtua tribe. Please listen, there is something we must tell you, Masato Ishimaru. Heed our warning.
Masato: How did you know m-
Kara & Kala: 65 million years ago, Ghidorah came to Earth to destroy all life upon it. However, the Earth retaliated, and created Gigamoth, who fought bravely against the Dark Lord. Gigamoth then split into two Angels... Mothra, the Angel of Life, and Battra, the Angel of Doom. The story is recorded on the cave wall. Ghidorah may be defeated for now, but his spirit will return and reclaim this body to finish what he started.
Masato: What do you mean?
Kara & Kala: Ghidorah is evil. He will stop at nothing until he destroys this planet. Nothing. Remember, Masato. Only the unity of Earth's guardian Kaiju can defeat him. As long as you remain friends with the Earth, then the Angel of Life will remain your ally.

With that, Masato is suddenly teleported back to the Monster Zero facility. He shakes his head, confused, and trying to process what had just happened.

Masato: What the hell was that? Maybe I was just dreaming. Wait...

He feels something in his hand... a gem with the same symbol on it. As he examines the peculiar gem, he hears the voices of the Houtua again.

Kara & Kala: You must destroy the body of the Dark Lord, or the Death Song of Three Storms will tear the world asunder.

Masato looks at Monster Zero once again. Where once there was confusion, now there is slight dread. If what he had heard is true, then that means he couldn't let this "Ghidorah" rise again.

In space, a massive mothership enters Earth's solar system, setting a course for the planet Earth. This is the Vortaak mothership. They had invaded Earth many times in an attempt to conquer it and subjugate the human race, but each time, the Kaiju of Earth had pushed them back. But this time, the Vortaak queen Velicia has made extreme preparations for an even bigger assault, one that she assumed would cripple the Earth. The Vortaak queen sat in her throne as she watched Earth; her skin was pale, standing out from her purple uniform and silver armor. She wore a crowned helmet and had dark eyes with a yellow glow. Her fingers were elongated claws. She admired the Earth, eager to claim it has part of her empire.

Velicia: At last, my children, the redemption of the Vortaak is at hand... we have risen from the ashes of defeat to reclaim what is rightfully ours; we've come to deliver Earth from the plague of humanity. Our forces are stronger, better equipped; our resolution is deeper than our foes'. Soon, we will reclaim our rightful prize. The pathetic humans and their mutated monstrosities are no match for the deliciously destructive surprise we have in store for them. Soon all will kneel before the terrible wrath of the Vortaak! All units prepare for a full-scale assault! Initiate on my mark!
Vortaak: My queen, we're picking up an unusually strong concentration of energy from within these quarters!

They look around in confusion. Then, without warning, a burst of electricity sets off an explosion, knocking Velicia and her men back. As the smoke clears, they see a figure rising. It is the man-dragon from before. The Vortaak soldiers felt an unusual chill crawling up from their spines as he got up. Calmly, the golden being walks towards Velicia and bows to her in respect.

Velicia: Who are you to intrude into my campaign?!
Lord Ghidrah: A friend... or a foe... that's for you to decide... and why I have sought you out.
Velicia: You were not invited.
Lord Ghidrah: Perhaps this will be more to your liking when I speak. I have a proposal for you.
Velicia: And if I don't want to hear it?
Lord Ghidrah: What harm could come from listening? I propose an alliance. The planet called Earth has something that belongs to me. To reach it, we must band together, and recruit other-like minded races who also seek the Earth. In exchange for returning what is rightfully mine, I will see to it that each of your races claims an even portion of the planet. Stick with me, and you will all be rewarded fairly and handsomely.

The Vortaak queen is silent for a moment. No one had offered her such a deal before. She had tried to conquer Earth so many times but had failed. Perhaps this time, it would make a difference if she accepted. After some thinking, Velicia reaches a decision.

Velicia: It's a deal. All battle units, stand down and await further orders. And send out a call to our allies. The Yog, Simeans, Nebulans, Seatopians, Millennians, and the Xiliens. From now on, we answer to this...
Lord Ghidrah: I am Ghidrah, and you will all be expected to play your part. First, we must test the planet for weaknesses and discover the whereabouts my old weapon.
Velicia: It's curious that someone like you would make yourself known now, on the eve of our historic victory. But no matter. We will all share our prize.
