Godzilla: Revenge of King Ghidorah

Movie 12-18
Chapter 5-5

  What was once the beautiful city of Boston is now a fiery war-zone. Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, and Battra all lay exhausted and wounded, as they struggle to defeat King Ghidorah. The three-headed dragon seemed to be invincible, despite everyone’s best efforts. Mothra used her remaining strength to fly over to Battra. She started to transfer some of her energy to him, healing her dark counterpart in the process. To boost this ability, the Elias sing and lend Mothra some of their strength.

  While Mothra heals Battra, Ghidorah pounces on Godzilla, grabbing him with his necks, claws, and tails, and then proceeds to fly up. He keeps going higher and higher, until they are way above the Earth’s atmosphere. Once high enough, Ghidorah drops Godzilla. As he plummets to the planet, the atmosphere sets the Monster King on fire. The force of impact is enough to destroy several blocks of Boston. King Ghidorah descends upon his helpless prey.

Kimberly: Godzilla’s losing!
Nicole: Is he dead?
Alex: He’s alive, but radiation levels are dropping.

  As King Ghidorah moves in, he hears a familiar cry. He looks behind to see Mothra hovering above the ground, accompanied by the healed Battra. Ghidorah unfolds his wings in a threat display, but the two Angels stand their ground. They then fly around him. Mothra sheds more reflective scales, while Battra unleashes bolts from his wings. The reflective scales then unleash God Rays, which blast and burn the hydra. Ghidorah screams in pain.

Mikaela: Can they defeat him like this?
Lora: They’re not defeating him. They’re distracting him.
Moll: To give Godzilla enough time to get back on his feet.
Alex: I got a transmission, guys. Kyne is almost on his way to pick us up.

  They see another VTOL arrive, and they help Mikaela on board. The VTOL prepares to leave, but finds it hard to fly in Ghidorah’s storm. Mikaela looks outside.

Mikaela: Godzilla’s not moving. He must be unconscious.
Moll: Then you must reach out to his mind.
Mikaela: I can’t. After the first incident, I promised never to use my powers on Kaiju ever again.
Lora: No one is forcing you. This is your choice. Think of the future.

  Mikaela sighs and tries to reach out to Godzilla telepathically, telling him to get up. He tries but struggles. Rodan, meanwhile, regains consciousness and receives her messages. He gets up and flies to the battle.

Alex: Rodan’s still alive.

  Ghidorah sees Rodan coming, then unleashes a shockwave that sends Mothra and Battra back, and he unleashes particularly powerful Gravity Beams, which blows a hole in Rodan knocks him into the sky and onto Godzilla’s weakened body. Ghidorah roars out in victory. Just as the terrible dragon descends upon his fallen enemies, Rodan’s body glows a bright red, and some energy is seen transferring to Godzilla.

Nicole: What’s going on?
Mikaela: I think Rodan is transferring his life force into Godzilla. Amazing.

  Rodan glows brighter and brighter, until his body melts away, leaving only lava. Godzilla absorbs the lava and gets back up, unleashing a powerful nuclear pulse. Mothra and Battra fly out of its range in time, but Ghidorah takes the full blast. Steam and smoke starts to emit from the dragon, and some of his scales start falling off.

Alex: My God, look at that!
Kimberly: Ghidorah’s scales are melting! Godzilla is giving off intense heat!

  Ghidorah shrills as he is slowly melting. Godzilla unleashes a more powerful nuclear pulse, which completely vaporizes his colossal wings like fire burning paper. Panicking, Ghidorah fires all three Gravity Beams, but Godzilla is not affected this time. His spines glow from blue to red, as he unleashes a powerful, crimson spiral-shaped atomic breath. The blast is so powerful that it completely obliterated Ghidorah’s middle head down to the base of the neck. He screams in misery and horror.

Nicole: Ghidorah’s not regenerating this time. There must have been some factor in his middle head that allowed him to regenerate any wound, and now he’s lost it.

  Godzilla continues to bombard Ghidorah with more crimson spiral rays until his body exploded. The storm comes to a sudden end, and Ghidorah’s fiery corpse lies motionless. Godzilla fires one more blast into the chest to make sure he is dead. He then roars in triumph, as he has finally vanquished his arch-nemesis once and for all. Mothra and Battra come face to face with Godzilla, but he leaves them, as he is now too tired to continue fighting. The Angels acknowledge each other and leave as well.

Moll: Your efforts have helped turn the tides.
Lora: Thank you all.

  The Elias leave, but Belvera stays for a moment.

Belvera: You know, I was going to prepare another day of reckoning, but it looks like Earth needs a break from that. Besides, I have other things to keep me occupied. Until then, you dumb bastards.

  Belvera vanishes as well. Upon returning to the GRF base, Mikaela is place in the sick bay. Her leg is in a cast, and her head is bandaged up. Nicole is also having her injuries healed. But both are relieved they are happy, and that Earth can get a tomorrow.

  A few weeks later, Boston is quarantined, and a new GRF base is constructed around King Ghidorah’s disfigured carcass, which is kept in quarantine for further study. The Sixth Extinction has gone into hiding again, but the GRF is focusing some of its resources in finding them. Mikaela is able to leave the medical bay, but she is still using crutches. Nicole joins her at her place. Liz-Liz and Bandit are happy to see them again.

Nicole: Mikaela, I never got a chance to thank you for saving me back there. Why would you risk your life for me though when you’re not a soldier?
Mikaela: I lost one love of my life. I won’t lose another. That reminds me. I want to ask you something, and I want to ask it now before anything else happens.
Nicole: What is it, dear?
Mikaela: Nicole Petesch, we’ve known each other for a long time, and we’ve dated for about half that time. I think we deserve to be together, so…

  She pulls out her box and opens it to reveal the diamond ring inside.

Mikaela: Nicole, will you marry me?

  Nicole takes the ring and looks at it, tears running down her eyes. Her expression changes from surprised to joyful, and she suddenly hugs and kisses Mikaela.

Nicole: Oh Mikaela, of course I will!

  The next month or so, after preparations, the wedding is held at Mt. Fuji. They invited Kyne, Aoki, Dr. Spencer, Alex, Kimberly, Dakota, Tim, Brenda, Teresa, and many more of their friends. Even Liz-Liz and Bandit are there as well. After taking their vows, Mikaela and Nicole are declared married and kiss. They go to the Maldives to spend their honeymoon, and Tim and Brenda agree to fill in for them in their absence. Kyne notices Dr. Spencer looking at a family picture, shedding a tear.

Kyne: What’s with the crocodile tears?
Dr. Spencer: I already miss my daughter. When she first applied for the GRF, she still had much to learn. Now she’s grown up and independent. And she was talking about retiring from the GRF for a while so she can live a quiet life with Nicole.
Kyne: I know the feeling, mate. When I married Heather, I gave up my older job so we could raise Zaheer. We found another job that enabled us to pay our bills and keep food on the table too. People are born, they grow up, and they die. It’s part of life. I’m sure we’ll see Mikaela again soon. She does have a peculiar interest in Godzilla, who is an interesting specimen. Sometimes, I feel she understand what he is better than us.
Dr. Spencer: You’re a good friend, and you’re right.

  In the Maldives, Mikaela and Nicole watch the moonlight from their bed while cuddling each other. From their apartment, Alex and Kimberly help Dakota apply for his last year in school. Tim, Brenda, and Teresa monitor Infant Island, as they see Mothra trying to heal it. They see some small growths of plant life beginning to emerge. In the sea, Godzilla continues to rest, until he needs to fight again.
