Description
A really quick concept I made of what I think Chrome should look like with material design. Tell me what you think!Resources used:

Should we add this to Windows 10 Google or are there any modifications I should make?

Idea-wise, this sort of browser ought to be conceptualized. However, it would probably need some modifications regarding consistency, as wwsalmon has stated, and perhaps some functional and/or slight visual changes.

Hmm, a web browser is something that we hadn't discussed yet. It's something we should probably include.
Because Kamal left, things have been delayed quite a bit and I'm pretty much just considering cutting off phase one and jumping to phase two (meaning we are free now, free but without a plan or schedule). One of the things we want to implement is consistency. Windows 10 and its mobile counterpart feel like two different operating systems loosely tied together, and it shouldn't. They should be consistent to the point where the two are hard to differentiate. On a smaller scale, we also need to be consistent with the web browser. This design is a nice one, but not very consistent. There are some things that we can carry over (the tabs and the new tab FAB) but overall we just need to redesign some stuff.
I want to just do an overall cosmetic overhaul to make it more specific in terms of metrics and specific things, but probably we will end up with something like this.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking. It needs to be changed to be consistent with everything else.

Very nice. I would like to see Chrome go back to its roots and become a simple fast and light browser again.Β

I agree, that's why I started using it.

Very nice concept! The only suggestion I have is to differentiate the tab area from the webpage by making one or the other white instead of gray, but I guess it wouldn't be a problem with websites that aren't the exact same shade of grey. Amazing work!

Thank you! I see what you mean. The dark line under the tabs is actually part of that area.

I believe that there isΒ a complicated way, but I don't know. I am almost certain that it is possible for Firefox, though.

Thanks! I couldn't find an example of Material Design with tabs on top. I'll try making another version soon .

That would be cool!
Material Design being about paper and all you'd think people would have done tabs on top by now; the only thing an IRL tab can be under is another tab.

Nice ! Although I'm not a big fan of the tabs. I'd make them larger, and probably hide the close button from the non-selected tabs.
