Description This species was a really tricky to photograph -didn't like me getting close, and exposing for black against white is a pain...

Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F14, 1/250, ISO 200) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens + a diffused MT-24EX.

This looks so good! I love just staring into the detail of this shot, and seeing the rest of the butterfly and it's beauty instead of it's wings. It is so interesting that something we believe to have seen so many times (perhaps not this species) has more to offer if you look that little bit closer

I still can't get over the head shape around it's tongue (or whatever that part is). Absolutely fascinating
