Great shot. I'd only wish there were a little less softness at the top the grasshopper's head. Β This is 1 shot image or focus stacked of many photos?

All my images are single frames. For me the fact that it's not sharp at the top increases the 3D look and feel of the image -looks like there is some distance between the front of the face and the top of the head. Most stacked images look flat to me because too much of the scene is in focus.

Ok. I look this picture behind my 10y old laptop, very bad screen. I'm sure it looks much much better if I'd look it behind my other monitor.Β
Thanks for the tip how to better create 3D feeling. I recently took a pic of fly's head, focus stacked, all sharp. And yes, it doesn't have that nice 3D look.Β

Such a great capture! I've always wanted that lens/flash setup, but I dont think I have the patience to not scare away the bugs and such.Β
