Description
To expose for the sky I set the shutter to 1/10 of a second, but since I was in the shade there was no significant amount of natural light hitting the subject so the flash exposed for the subject and froze any motion in the scene. Shot hand held, and it's a single frame.Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F11, 1/10, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@ 3x) + a diffused MT-24EX macro twin flash.

talk about detail....wow!!!!!! you have shown us the hairs on the legs, the eyes, the antennae, the lining of the eletrium, even the pores in each section of shell!..... it's wonderful. another creature of God's that people look at as pests ( and actualy this one is ) but you have made it a work of art!! the size of this tiny beetle is brought home to us with your inclusion of the plant surface it rests on. every peice of texture from smooth to fuzzy makes this tiny world big and "wake-up" call real !. and by giving us a blue background the yellow of the beetle stands out strongly. well done!!!
