The MPE-65mm is basically a reversed 65mm lens on a variable length extension tube -but I'd say that it's a lot easier to use than reversing a standard lens. Keep your Fstop around 11 and practice -lots and lots of practice...

i always keep my Fstop at 22,but im not realy sure, cause i cant see the Fnumber at my camera,so i just set it before i reverse the lens and attach to my extension tube,..i will take a lot of practice sir,..thank you so much master,..

...D8 Oh my gosh! I've never seen a wasp this large with this much clarity and detail. I love taking pictures of bees, wasps, and yellow jackets, but my camera could never catch something like this. Stunning, simply stunning.

geez, my first word was: "HOW?"
Excellent shot, not only technically superb, but the artistic merit is really high in this one

Thanks for the props
That shot was the result of a "dare" -someone looked at an earlier photo and told me that it was too bad that I couldn't shoot the reflection. The trick is to get a pool of honey that's so thick the flash will reflect off of the surface and not off of the base (in this case a tree limb). On that particular spot there was an indentation that allowed me to get the honey thick enough. All I had to do was wait for the "model" to show up...
