*Updated* 1-10-06 I corrected his skin color. I used a combination of 3 colors this time, instead of one flat color like before. I'm learning here folks!Let me know what you think!

This is my realistic take on a manga/anime character from a book/anime called Trigun. Type in Vash or Trigun here on DA or google, and you'll get flooded with images of what he normally looks like.

That looks so oddly familiar but I won't say why because then I'll get accused of being a raving mad fangirl but... I have a picture... of another actor... same pose, more revealing clothing... Scaaaary...

I've tried to view Vash in a real-world setting, trying to visualise which actors might do him justice...but you have him here, in all his youthful splendour. I'd love to see a topless version, complete with scars and mended bullet holes.

Actually, I've wantd to do a topless Vash for a long time, but I need to get enough reference for scars so that I can draw it as realistic as possible. Thanks for reminding me! I'm gonna get right on that...

This and your portraits of Wolfwood, Legato, and Knives are really awesome. I'm used to seeing them all in the pointyish anime-style, but you've made them much more real and human-like, and also captured their personalities I think.
And you've done it well! ^_^ I like seeing new interpretations of common concepts.

Wow! not too badly done! However, Vash's outfit is black and brown under his jacket.. not blue-jean as far as I can remember (maybe i'll have to check the dvd..)
He looks abit like Gackt (Japanese artist) when he wore Vash's jacket and had his hair like this. (actually his face reminds me of gackt alot..)
i think you should try going for a more, lighter shade of blonde.. as Vash is a light blonde and this makes him more look like a dirty dishwater blonde..
and for some reason.. I can't tell why, but his hair seems to have this.. Green tint about to it? Not sure.. but it just doesn't seem to flow well color wise.. could be just me! sorry to critique so much..

Only one question, though: Which mechanical arm is it? The one he had pre-"Flying Ship" or the one post?

Actually, I took the mechanical arm from a pin-up by the manga creator. Back in the day he drew Vash's mechanical arm to look like it was cobbled together out of junk, with exposed wires and the gun inside partially showing. So it was in no way supposed to pass as a human arm. And as far as I can tell, every time that he drew it in a pinup it looked different as if he just made it up on the fly.
