He's got to be up their for screen time for a Bond villain. Not many of Bonds enemies are on the screen for a s long as he is.

It was kind of confusing when I watched FRWL the first time as a kid... this blond dude is obviously an evil agent, why is he being all cordial with Bond? Great fight scene, too.

I agree that the plan they set up was a little hard to follow. Although since it alomost worked against James Bond of all things it's a pretty good plan when you finally understand it. Plus it's great to see them finally talk and eventually fight each other. The build up makes it all the more memorable

Just seeing him take a punch in the gut by brass knuckles was enough to make him scary. That and the crazy Aryan look.

Even when he was a good guy, like in "Force 10 From Navarone," there was a sinister aspect that emanated from the character!

Apparently he was also the crazy frazzled looking shark hunter (Quint) who worked with Roy Scheider in the original Jaws, also! I never would have thunk it.

Oh, most definitely, he was! And he contributed a sense of menace in a good buy role in that one, as well.

Yeah, I've been watching several of the old Bond films lately (while inking these, natch), and FRWL really stands up as one of the best.
