Thank you very much! I've tried several different inking styles over the years until I came up with this one - which gives the semblance of detail without being totally time-consuming.

Each page takes me about 8-10 hours to ink, which I split up into several sessions (or else my fingers would go numb and fall off, the way I hold a brush..). I tried using a dip-pen for a couple of years, but that just took forever... and I love how many line types I can get with the same brush.

I ink all the figures first, since I have my mental map of how the characters should look already established - I can freely ink them without having to scrutinize too much, and they get the boldest lines. Then I'll ink the primary structural lines for the background, and from there I add all the shadow hatching & detail for the backgrounds. It's a constant battle to suppress emphasizing the backgrounds over the figures!
