Things you may need to survive in the middle of XXXI century.

  • Adhesive tape - "Duct tape is magic and should be warshiped!" (c) US Martian Expedition participant
  • Ammo box (Russian Empire, Military surplus) - pretty standard type of ammo box, used by humans.
  • Amulet (Hermetic School, Fourth Pentacle of Luna) - magical amulet, purchased from government-licensed manufacturer, will actually work even in space, while costing you a small fortune. Purchased from street vendor in sprawls, while cheap...
  • Angle grinder (USJ; B&D Tools brand) - invaluable tool for any space engineer.
  • Antimatter container - aka "matchstick" or "spark plugs", this device contains several microgramms of anti-hydrogen, suspended in magnetic field. Not nearly enough for any demolition (in fact, integrated battery contains far more energy), this devices are used in re-igniting fusion reactors by creating high-temperature (around billion degrees) "spark".
  • Arc lighter (UEN; S. T. Dupont brand)- most popular lighter type in space
  • Atmospheric analyser (German Kaiserreich, Testo brand) - this little device constantly measures temperature, atmospheric pressure and it's composition, capable of detecting of about a hundred of most common toxins.
  • Axe, multipurpose (German Kaiserreich, "Gardena" brand) - not the most common item on spaceship, to be honest.
  • Backpack (UEN; "Fortis" brand)
  • Bank card (UEN; Barclays bank)
  • Battery, AF400 (German Kaiserreich, Varta AG) - heavy battery, used for powering heavy equipment, spacesuits and exoskeletons.
  • Battery, BP310 - multipurpose hand tool battery, used by both... well, tools - and small energy weapons. Interstellar human standard.
  • Battery, 3F310 - multipurpose small-scale battery. Usualy fits into TV remote, multimeter or any other handheld electronics, similar to a pair of AA batteries of XXI century. Interstellar human standard.
  • Battery, 3F336 - multipurpose battery, used by larger equipment - like, for example, laser rifles. Interstellar human standard.
  • Binoculars (GKR; Carl Zeiss Spaher) - digital multifunctional binoculars
  • Bolt cutter (USJ; "Snap-on" brand) - heavy duty bolt cutter for some real cutting.
  • Caliper (Russian Empire)
  • Canteen, 1L (German Kaiserreich, Military surplus)
  • Chainsaw (Russian Empire, UEI Friendship) - battery-powered electric chainsaw, not the most common tool on spaceships... Depending on a type of spaceship, off course. Finding it on colony or trading ship is not so difficult, actually. Humans tried to replace it with laser saws, but it turned out... Not so well.
  • Comm (Russian Empire; Sputnik COM-3310) - invaluable device in modern and future world
  • Comm, rugged (USJ; Bell MSpec750) - hardened, everything-proof handheld comm, favourite type among space wonderers and mercs.
  • Comm pad (Japan; Fujitsu Yumi F-505T)
  • Comm pad, rugged (USJ; IBM Traveller N890) - data pad, protected from hursh conditions, including space vacuum.
  • Comm watch (Russian Empire; Sputnik Navigator 1961) - compact wrist-mounted comm. This particular LE model, released in 2961 (yeah, they are nearely 100 years old) commemorates 1000 years of human space exploration.
  • Cooler box - isothermic container, useful, when you need to keep your beer cool on away missions. Or to keep collected specimens.
  • Crash axe (USJ; "Gerber Legendary Blades, Inc." brand) - multipurpose survival tool.
  • Crowbar - to be kept out of reach of children, semi-sentient life forms and clowns.
  • Data stick (USJ; SanDisk brand) - yeah, still in use in XXXI century. While cloud data storage is in active use, some things you want to keep out of the NET... Also, interstellar data traffic is expensive - and not always available.
  • Designation beacon (Russian Empire; Polus RM-15) - multipurpose programmable military radio beacon.
  • Electric flare (USJ; RescueME brand) - signals your position without the risk of burning
  • Electrical tape - like duct tape, but smaller and insulating
  • Electrical tool case (German Kaiserreich; "Knipex Werk C. Gustav Putsch KG" brand)
  • Emergency air canister - emergency air refill for your space suit, contains around half an hour (or around 300L) of continued existance.
  • Emergency hull patch (Internetional standard) - armoured plastic sheet with a layer of sealant for emergency repairs.
  • Emergency space suit (USJ; Mustang EVS) - this vacuum suit can be on in less then a minute... And, no, there is no particular reason, why search and rescue crews calls them "body bags"...
  • Emergency suit repair kit (International Standard) - everything you need for quicj repairs on your space suit.
  • EPIRB/Emergency position-indicating radio beacon (Russian Empire; Navcom Omega-410)
  • Esper crystal (Electrokinesis) - specially-treated quarz crystal, that allows a non-psionic individual to use psionic powers... To some extent. Needs some training anyway, and some of the powers are prohibited from mass market (you can buy yourself telekinesis one, but telepathy, for example, are for government use only).
  • Fire extinguisher (UEN; Firemaster brand) - nanomist, 2kg extinguisher. Because "fire in space kills all".
  • Firearm maintenance kit - tools for cleaning and maintenance of gunpowder-based firearms.
  • Firefighting bomb (USJ, Shur-Stop brand) - nanomist fire extinguishing bomb, good for small compartements, like spaceship living cabins. Also, works well as improvised smoke bomb.
  • Flare gun (Russia; Wind Rose SPR) - 26mm flare gun, in case of emergency
  • Flashlight (Russian Empire; ERA brand)
  • Floodlight, handheld (unknown manufacturer)
  • Folding entrenching tool (USJ; Military surplus)
  • Food tester (USJ; GTest brand) - recognizes wide variety of harmful substances, invaluable when stranded on unknown planets. Keep it's database updated!
  • Footlocker (USJ, Military surplus) - small box (usually - discarded ammo crate), used by low-rank military and crew personell to store personal belongings.
  • Geiger counter (Russian Empire; Radex Onyx) - rugged multi-purpose professional radiation measurment device. However, most people use comm-integrated Geiger counters.
  • Hand flare (USJ; RedFox brand) - burns in water, do not use in flamable atmosphere.
  • HCFS disk (Russian Empire; AGAT brand)
  • Hip flask - classic liqueur flask.
  • Hot plate (USJ; "EZ Cooker" brand) - portable battery-powered cooking station. Usual sight in cheap apartments and small spaceships. Usually powered by 3F336 battery.
  • Hygiene kit
  • ICE Pick (UNKNOWN) - data stick with pre-installed OS and cracking software.
  • Laptop (UEN; Acorn Nicole-NGX)
  • Laptop, rugged (USJ; Trinity Pathfinder R90) - laptop, designed to withstand hursh conditions, be it modern battlefield, vacuum of space or dusty tracks of new frontiers.
  • Laser maintenance kit - set of tools for tuning and maintaining of laser weapons.
  • Laser welder (Japan; Makita brand) - hand-held laser cutting/welding tool.
  • Laser-optic target designator (Russian Empire; Polus LOPR-33) - binocular, laser designator, cooridnats designator and multispectral camera in one packege. Must-have tool for modern battlefield officer or scout. Needs special military comm or comm pad for proper work.
  • Light sticks - chemical, flameless lightsticks. Safe and disposable, so can be used, for examole, for trail marking.
  • Lighter (USJ; "ZENGAZ" brand)
  • Mass spectrometer, handheld (German Kaiserreich, Siemens PMS-134903) - handheld chemical detection/identification devise. Can work both in detection and analytic modes, however, lacks the resolution of it's lab analogue.
  • Mechanical tool case (German Kaiserreich; "Knipex Werk C. Gustav Putsch KG" brand)
  • Mess kit - when you can't just microwave your pre-packed meal.
  • Monkey wrench (Russian Empire; "Volga Instrument" brand) - probably, engineer's most useful tool (self-defence including).
  • Mug, ceramic - they are everywhere...
  • Multimeter (USJ; Edisson Interstellar E550)
  • Multispectral flaw detector (Russian Empire; Technovotum UDS-29)
  • Multitool (Russian Empire; "OrionSpec" brand) - usefull in a pinch.
  • Multivisor, handheld (USJ; Teledyne brand) - professional multivisor, capable of detecting rather wide range of spectrum, from ultraviolet to microwave. Engineers use them to detect various leaks and incoming troubles.
  • Oscilloscope (USJ; Tektronix brand) - necessary for calibration.
  • Padlock, smart - small padlock with biometric mechanism.
  • Passport card (USJ) - standard citizen ID card.
  • Personal motion detector (Russian Empire; NPO Strela Lynx) - HIDDEN MOVEMENT
  • Pipe wrench (Swiss Star Confederation; "KRAFTWERK" brand) - heavy duty tool. Very heavy - around 8kg. Can also be used to kill invading xenoorganisms, crazed robots and AI-created mutants.
  • Plasma welding torch, handheld (Russian Empire; Interscol PG-325)
  • Playing cards (USJ, Bicycle brand) - even in XXXI century, cards are still one of the most popular passtimes.
  • Pocket microdrone (Russian Empire; Sputnik KVK-Compact) - miniature, foldable, near-disposible flying drone for checking around the corner.
  • Portable multifuel cell (Japan; Mitsubishi P7500iZ) - compact, quiet and microgravity-tested backup power source. Works well with most fuel types, including alcohol, gasoline, diesel, hydrogen etc.
  • Portable speaker (Japan; NVC brand) - bane of humanity since XXI century!
  • Power reel (Russian Empire; Era brand) - 15m extension cord with sockets.
  • Power reel, industrial (German Kaiserreich, Siemens brand) - heavy duty 380V power reel, usually used for emergency spaceship repairs
  • Rivet gun (UEN; "Jonsered" brand) - no, you can't shoot from it to kill invading xenoorganisms. Even in emergency. It does not works like that.
  • SatComm (USJ; Iridium BB-5470) - satcomms are comms, capable of reaching low planetary orbit. Usual equipment for away teams.
  • Screw/drill gun (Russian Empire; Zubr D-17)
  • Screwdrivers (Russian Empire; 'Zubr' brand)
  • Screwdriver, electric (Cosmintern, ReisMash brand) - powered screwdriver with tiny flashlight.
  • Sealant gun (UEN; "Prodec" brand) - vacuum-approved sealant, used in construction and repairs. Including emergency spaceship repairs.
  • Sensor ball (Japan; Canon Usagi 360) - throwable gyroscopic panoramic sensor complex, very sturdy
  • Signal jammer (USJ; Trinity J-94) - multispectral signal jammer
  • Slide rule - every astrogator's backup tool
  • Solar cell, portable (UEN; PhotowatT brand) - portable folding (on the picture it's half-folded) passive energy source.
  • Sowing kit (Manufacturer unknown) - even in far future, you can't escape sowing...
  • Soldering iron (Russian Empire; Rexant brand)
  • Spade (Russian Empire; Zinler brand) - great for digging small trenches and holes. Also - makes great self-defense melee weapon.
  • Torque gun (USJ; DeWalt brand) - portable electric wrench.
  • UFS memory chip (USJ; SanDisk brand)
  • Water bottle - flexible, folding water bottle, suitable for Zero-G conditions, 750ml.
  • Water purification tablets (USJ, Aquatabs brand) - while some solutions, like powered still, are more reliable, purification tabs are most compact.
  • Water still (UEN; "EZ Cooker" brand) - battery-powered water still, produces 5L of pure water per hour. With some modifications, may be used to distil alcohol.
  • Welding paste (Russian Empire; "Rexant" brand) - thermite welding paste. You can cut a bulk with it or weld two metal pieces together.
  • Wire cutter (Japan; "Tajima" brand)
  • Wire stripper (UEN; Irimo brand)
  • Working light (German Kaiserreich, Bosch brand) - portable multipurpose working floodlight.
  • Wrench set (Cosmintern; LIZ brand) - most of the time power tools are used, but any space engineer worth his salts always carry around screwdriver and a wrench or two, just in case.
