If they designed this to handle the 9x19 +p stuff they turn out, this could be pretty scary.Β
Also would make a more realistic replacement to the revolver in Metro.

9x19mm was adopted much later, around 2010.
And, yes, I still try to fìgure out how did they managed to start full-cycle production of .44 Mag in post-apocalyptic Metro, since .44 was never produced in Russia... .41 would make a little more sence.

Or .44 Russian.Β
The powder could be a lot weaker and they might have blueprints or models lying around.Β

Easier to design a new system from a scratch - S&W β3 "Russian", as well as it's cartridges, .44 Russian, were discontinued more then a century ago. Followed by two World Wars and Revolution.

It's such a weird piece. It's interesting that they'd pick a 9x18mm or 9x17mm chambering for a revolver like this.

Last revoler-class ammo, largely produced in Russia was 7,62mm Nagant - and it's production was stopped something like 50 years ago, soon after the end of WW2... And 9x18mm PM was main pistol round for decades (till officially replaced with 9x19mm Par in 2010-s).

That makes sense now, because there was so much ammo available.

Maybe they chambered it for 9x18 because of the production quantity of this ammo.

Yeah, that makes sense, don't know why I didn't think about that. >.<

Besides, ".44 Magnum" is too heavy for this baby!

Oh, absolutely! Haha, I'm sure .38 Special would be pushing it too!

.38 is big, but not as big as the .50!

Thanks. Will there be more Soviet/Russian weapons?
