Description
Naka-Chan Center! It's been a long time since I did a pixel art and it's still as fun as ever
Anyhoo, this is the Fleet's Idol, Naka ! She's out in the middle of the ocean giving a concert on a floating stage. Seems fitting. That black screen in the back is for videos when she does night performances and the little fairy is just there because it's cute
I also made a little page doll of her if you want to use her on your page. Every page should have at least 1 Naka
I hope you like her!
Mike

Pixel Art. My freaking favorite kind of art.
This. Is. So. Cool.
Everything's super nice and symmetrical! And Naka is absolutely adorable. I admire the hard work and patience you had when doing this deviation. Pixel can be such beep sometimes-

You're welcome! I love the color scheme. Your drawing kinda reminds me of the concerts in Angel Beats.

And you did a great job on those pixels! I like the lively pose and action, and the background suits it well. Put it on a PC-98, add some animation and you've got yourself an in-game cutscene!

I had to cheat a little because I didn't know これ (now I do) but I understood everything else
Can かわいい also mean pretty? When I ran it through Google translate to see if I got it right it said pretty instead of cute. I've only seen it used to mean cute

I'd say usually cute but in some contexts opting for pretty may sound better because they are similar words after all, but usually きれい is what you'd use for pretty.

And then we throw こわい just to mess with people

Acerzinha In reply to Damaged927 [2014-04-30 12:36:27 +0000 UTC]
And then かわいそう to mess with even more. Usually if you replace the final い in adjectives with そう it means "looks [adjective]", right? So delicious, おいしい, would become おいしそう, looks delicious! But if you do that to かわいい you don't get "it looks cute", you get かわいそう which actually means pathetic, pitiable.

Well, I guess pitiable things can look cute, right?
Does using そう only work with replacing an い does it work with all adjectives? Though, now that I look into it, I can't seem to find an adjective that doesn't end with a い

Well if you want to read more up on this using the guide I gave you, the construction is in section 5.7.3, which should start on page 261 of the pdf.
But I'll describe it here too-- it works with essentially all verbs and adjectives, unless it makes no sense, but you'd know because it'd make about as little sense in English. To attach it to a verb you'd make a verb in the masu form, and then remove the masu and add sou instead. So for example, ame ga furu means "rain", we can make furu polite with furimasu, then replace the masu to get furisou. Ame ga furisou would be "it seems like it's going to rain."
Then with adjectives that end in い, well, I already showed you that There are two major categories of adjectives, ones that end in い, and ones that don't. The ones that don't simply take sou without losing anything, so for example kirei again, it becomes kireisou. It might look like an -い adjective, but in kanji the word is 綺麗, so it doesn't actually end with い, whereas words like 可愛い (かわいい) do have that kana ending.

I have a long way to go before I get to this section Though I shall check it out as this seems very important and interesting
Ah, good to know. I like when there is, more or less, an iron clad rule to work with
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Acerzinha In reply to Damaged927 [2014-04-30 14:25:52 +0000 UTC]
Yeah those rules apply to everything except for いい (good). To make いい in the そう form you need to say よさそう. いい is pretty much the only real irregular adjective you'll encounter... but that's because most forms want to use よい (means the exact same thing as いい, good) as their base instead of いい, so really you just say いい if it's just plain good, and then you'll use something probably based off of よい if you're saying something was good, or seems good, etc.
