Cool stuff. I love the lonely city aesthetic of this and your use of hue intensity to make the impression of a cityscape at night.

I really like this, both with and without colours. The one without colours kind of remind me of a 50´s movie

Love seeing the process of other artist's.  No wonder your contrast game is on point, your greyscale stages are very thorough and thoughtful.

I need to do more greyscale stages myself, it's a lovely way do values.

DamaiMikaz In reply to JubeiSpiegel [2018-08-22 17:07:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I usually do a mockup in grey. Makes it easier to decide on the colors later on and change color schemes if I want to

I never understood going from greyscale to color digitally, but you have mastered it! The colors look clear and not muddy at all, well done! It’s a lovely illustration

I think the greyscale steps helps you to find the good light and contrast balance in your pic
Anyway, this process makes me want to try the greyscale thing \o/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BrantaQ In reply to NijikoSan [2018-08-23 05:31:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but the transition from the ‘finished’ greyscale to the colors is so difficult.. (I tried lol) That’s why I admire this process so much.
You should~ Good luck!
