Description
Another request/art trade fulfilled!This one is of 's ponysona, a pegasus pony named Phoenix Song. I don't know much about the character, except that she's an artist, so I decided to draw her sitting on a cloud out in the plains, waiting for inspiration to come.
Also, the sky was absolutely horrid and I completely f***ed up Phoenix's colors, so I made liberal use of the color balance and blur functions on GIMP to fix that. But I think it ended up okay.

That sky... It looks digitally colored, in contrast to the rest. Of course it looks great. I'm really loving the pose you used and everything, really. It's all very nicely done. You did make her colors too dark, though, so a little extra brightness would have gone a long way. Still, this one's pretty neat!

It's actually traditionally colored...or at least, it was originally. But I colored it with a marker that was almost dead, and it looked absolutely terrible. So I blurred it together using GIMP to make the individual marker-strokes disappear. (they really were ugly. 
As for her colors, it's funny that you mention that. In the original drawing, her colors were a lot closer to Scootaloo's than her real colors, but those were the closest markers I had for coloring her in. What you're seeing now is the result of much messing around with the color balance function of GIMP; this was the closest I could get.

She's really pretty! I love the way you drew the landscape. It reminds me of my trip to Nevada several years ago. I like the way you drew Phoenix's wings too - they look so soft and feathery!

Okay now to the picture itself.
So now I see you save your darkier pictures for yourself, and do more happy pictures as request. I find this very good as a respect for the requester
Also, now you weren't as lazy as before with the mountains xD
I like how the sky and the river came out.
Now, off-topic, can I ask you something?
You remember when I asked you a looooot of time ago (when you still used paint to edit) if you knew a good tool to edit pictures, like contrast and colors?

Well, that depends on whose OC I'm drawing. For characters like the ones and asked me to do, the characters are pretty normal/nice in terms of mental health and behavior, so I don't think grimdark pictures would go very well with them.
On the OTHER hand, if the characters are already pretty dark or if the person asks me to do them in a dark picture, then I WILL draw them grimdark-style without a moment's hesitation.

Well, it's difficult to have an OC with bad mental health (and even more if it's a ponysona. You are a special case [in a good way])
So most of the requests you will get will be happy. Just pray to have a grimdark request
If it works, it works. It doesn't matter if it's hard to use, I'll just search a tutorial. There should be one around, right?
Also, it couldn't be as hard as Photoshop, right? And if it is, well, at least it doesn't need as much requirements...
