I never thought this day would come. But it did. I have Sonic fan art in my gallery.

Ok, so I really don't know much about Sonic, nor am I the biggest fan. But I noticed that these little guys have been taking over dA avatars of late, and decided to do some research. Seems they're little critters from Sonic called chaos. I thought they were cute so I decided to draw one.

This little guy was done 100% in Adobe Illustrator during study breaks. I was originally going to do him with Adenydd's coloring of blue and white, but there seems to be a different race of chao with those colors, but that looks a little different... I dunno, I figured I'd have Sonic fans after me for getting it wrong. So I just made the colors up. I found a reference sheet that said they come in different colors, so...

Awwwwe, he's got a flower for you. If, for some strange reason, anyone wants a wallpaper of this, it can easily be done. Fear the uber-cutsie eyes.
Chaos belong to the Sonic/Sega people, the image belongs to me.

Chao!

In Sonic Adventure, I was such a horrible person. I kept tossing one Chao against the wall (my little brother requested it....wierdo), and he had this evil grin on his face ever since. I also merged him with a penguin, and he ended up with crazy eyebrows. He looked awesome, though he was probably screwed up for life.


And don' worry, you got the colors perfectly fine. I like the little smudge of pink on the belly.

Yeah, I am a little slow, so I haven't noticed this guy around I have only played one of the games (the sonic and knuckles game which came with the old sega genesis console), and a couple of years ago I watched the original series on occasion, but that was only because ninja turtles wasn't on

Really nice though, I love the colouring on this, really nice choice of colors. The purple striking against the yellow is just beautiful, you have such a strong concept of colour theory (I wish more concept artists would use colour such as you do, but I guess animation is rather a limiting media at times due to lack of time).

Still, you really tied everything together nicely, including the pinks of the flowers, and the blush and other tints on the chaos critter. Love the touch with the flower, it really balances it out

The nice feature of illustrator is that the brushes are rather smooth, and there is a lot you can do with the gradient tools, but it's rather hard to master, but you can say that with most paint programs (well, at least the good ones).

I am far too lazy to even understand photoshop fully

I know nothing about these creatures except that they're adorable, I want one and I will give it razor sharp teeth and teach it to kill... I mean lookit that, you'd never suspect it of being about to rip out your throat... *cough* sorry, I'm SUPER bitter at the moment. Stupid life. Annyyyyyyyyyways. You done good Kay, s/he's adorable and I want one to hold and love and huggle - so a plushie I suppose....

I'm also not a big fan of Sonic. The last game I enjoyed was the one on Dreamcast, and that was purely for the Chao pet thing. I had fun throwing them at the wall.

Err... anyway, getting a little sidetracked there. I think the way you did the eyes adds a crap load of cuteness to the picture. It just feels so watery and soft.

Thanks go to DA's Sonic Club for those chao icons =3 Makes me wish I had one o.o
Anyhow, the white-esque colors upon the creature have been done well to show upon the innocent textures on the creature, almost making it a pseudo-Hero Chao or something like that. The flower's a nice touch to empasise on the delicacy of the creature.
I could tend to think the background could clash with the chao itself in terms of color pallette, but leaving that aside... I'm so faving this Well done Kay!

Chao's are in no way scary, Kay. They're actually all pretty cute and fun to raise. ^^ LOL, I should know. I got addicted to that game back then and I really didn't have the heart to return it to Blockbuster, so I kept it for 3 more weeks. Only then did I finally got sick of it, so I returned it. Of course, the fine costed me a fortune, and I should've just bought the damn game instead. You learn from your mistakes though.

Chao are cute little buggers. I have a game where I can raise them. You picked some very nice colors for the chao and did a wonderful job drawing and coloring it. It looks so sweet and innocent.
