"Look creep, for the last time, I'm not from your damn tribe! Get it in your head before I go theatrical on your ass!"

Sarcastic, apathetic, cynical, and a bit acid; Maple is a witch that won't give too much thought about morals and the rest of those silly things.
Maple was born in a family of magic users. She's a mestizo, her mother Ayike and her father a Hylian. Both died when she was very young but they taught her well. After they passed away, her grandmother, Syrup, took the responsibility of Maple's studies in witchcraft. Maple always knew the strict personality of her grandmother but she hardly complained… at least, not in front of her. She learned very fast of her and quickly became one of the best witches of Holodrum. However, she's well known for her flying skills which are really bad.

After Link showed up in Labrinia, she decided to follow him. After all, they were fighting for her country. Once they had defeated at the General of Darkness and the Sorceress of Shadows, Maple asked Syrup permission to leave with Link to Hyrule. Her grandmother agreed and Maple quickly made it into Hyrule University with a little help of Link.

She's a very calmed girl, always focusing on her studies rather than in unproductive activities. She enjoys greatly the company of her friends, because she had a very hard childhood, and she often wonders if she had any. That's one of the reason she always tried to keep pets with her; however her grandmother always managed to make her release them. Once she arrived to Hyrule, she found a Dodongo's egg and took care of it until it hatched.

Even though she shows a lot of severity with her friends, and sometimes she even punish them in a way or another for slacking on their studies, she's very friendly and caring. She is ready to do anything for her friends if they ask her for help. This is more noticeable with Majora; Maple is very harsh with her, and she is constantly smacking her in the head for every little mistake. But that doesn't stop her of giving comfort at the little girl if she ever has a nightmare or is feeling sad. In fact, it would seem as if they were sisters.

She is in love with Link, but since he has already chosen at Zelda as his partner, Maple can do little about it. She isn't very sure of what she should do about it; sometimes her jealousy makes her want to break their relation, but her Hylian part always stops her. She knows she'd be bringing nothing more than pain for Link, Zelda and herself. She is quickly giving up any hope of being with Link, but she still wants at somebody like him as her partner. Somebody brave, caring, and capable of showing compassion even for their enemies.
Sadly, Maple has the worst of the lucks trying to find a partner; she always makes the wrong choice and is always very hurt for that.

Even though she may look like an Ayike she's more Hylian than anything else; this brings many conflicts with herself. She can't think of herself as an Ayike but each time she sees a mirror she's reminded of the reality. That put her self-esteem at even lower levels. Being more and Hylian than Ayike she doesn’t have the enhanced strength of the Ayikes or their psychic powers but she compensates it with a huge spiritual power. The Ayikes have a poor spiritual power and most of them can't make magic but Maple is an excellent spellcaster.

That little thing you see over her head is #001 aka Zombie, one of her many puppets. Inspired by Link's Heartless Soldiers, Maple makes her own army of puppets. Thanks to her studies of magic she's capable of opening portals to many different dimensions and thanks to that she's able to recollect enough information to create a large number of creatures that listen to her as if they were her pets.
