OK, this is a classic pose. But one of the best I've seen! (I happen to have a folder full of photos named "LookingOverTheShoulder". I use it for art reference.)
The lighting here is dramatic and it's creating an exciting collection of colors. And I think the way you have one eye obscured by hair really adds to the composition.
Despite the fact that the viewer can only see one eye, her gaze is so powerful it looks you in! Wonderful!

I read the description few seconds after posting my comment, but here we can't edit our post so here it is. Personally I always read the desc, but in that case I was totally absorbed by the photo. Let me give you one advise: generalizing it is not a good way of thinking.
