Description A trutle from the zoo. An extremely lucky shot if you ask me, there is glass there and i had flash on, most other shots were bad. I didnt have a tripod so i couldnt turn the flash off or the shutter speed would have been way too long.

The scratches and blemishes on the glass really add to this piece. It removes it from the hoards of clichΓ© photographs of baby animals that are out there.
The scratches, to me, are a metaphore for how hard life is out in the wild for newborn turtles. The act as a reminder that not everything is perfect.

And I wanted to say something about the head being out of focus. But i've come to think of it as a good thing.
If it were in focus a lot of the meaning would have been lost.
The blurred head means that you can't identify it as an indavidual turtle, it's a metaphore for all turtles out there.
And I suppose you could extend it to humans.

Good shot.

Wow, thankyou so much for such a meaningful comment.
It means a lot that someone can erad so deep into one of my photographs.
