Self-doubt has been a HUGE topic in my house lately. When I started working on this, I didn’t really know where I was going, but knew wherever it was, I would get there eventually. And then I thought of a woman that’s struggling with herself. Her old self versus the new self. The self-doubt. If she’s good enough. What do others think of her? Of the choices she makes? Of the person she's become. It’s always there, that little whisper that makes her hesitate. She lets it control her every decision. It lets her control her happiness.
Until she carves it away.
I still have moments of self-doubt about certain things. There was a time when I was so afraid of what others thought of me. My decisions. The things I enjoyed creating. Would they like it? Would they judge me? Was I "weird" for enjoying high fantasy? It killed my creativity for a long time. And one day I realized, I didn't care.   I love magical fantasy stories. I love dark fantasy stories. I love the fantasy genre as a whole. And that's what matters. What I love. I carved the doubt away.
