My third crossover happened rather unexpectedly. I have had a couple others in the works for quite awhile, but inspiration hit me just right one night and I ended up spitting out this nostalgia fuel.

RAMBLING TIME:

I know that with Sonic being in the Smash Bros. roster now, and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games, the novelty of this has sort of run off. So, to combat that, I chose to draw all of these characters in their classic form as opposed to their modern forms.

I drew these characters a LOT as a kid, but even so, there were things here that I had never drawn before. I had never drawn classic Robotnik (Eggman), nor had I drawn his egg-o-matic hovercraft. I had never drawn classic Bowser, and I had never drawn classic Amy.

Like many fellas my age, when I was a kid, the animated intro to Sonic CD was basically the coolest thing I had ever seen. So I definitely wanted to use that style for Sonic, here.

My favorite part of this image is Tails and Luigi. Tails just looks like he is COMIN' FO' DAT ASS. And Luigi is like, OSHIT, HE IS COMIN' FOR DIS ASS. That's funny to me.

Last but not least, this was colored by the great . I grew up reading Sonic comics, so I could not be more honored to have his colors on my work. I can't imagine anyone who could have done a finer job. Thanks bud!
