About Peacock mutation
Peacock mutation is only active on horses with nPc or PcPc.
It shows in different ways. Standard mutation hightens the
glow of the base coat to a higher saturation.
It may also add the peacock dappling to any parts of the coat.
Mane and tail is often two colored, but never spottet.
It can effect eyes with adding multiple colored eyes.
There is 50% risk of blindness or lowered eyesight on twicolored eyes.
There is 25% risk of deafness on PcPc foals.
To pass the mutation on to foals, you must either breed:
nn x PcPc
nPc x PcPc
or
nPc x nPc
If nn x nPc or nn x nn, you NEVER get the peacock mutation.
Mutation can not jump on to grandfoals etc.
There are a total of 10 Peacock starters imported during 2014.
