Description
Second in a series of the main character bios of SpaceWolf.Name: Jenner Tasananzi (aka Rusty)
Birthplace: New Jachsport, Chaskio, Timbrill
Rusty served as a med-tech with the 24th Infantry during the Monarchy’s second war with the Ursa System. He was assigned to the 24th’s Echo Company, whose job was to locate and rescue downed fighter pilots. On one of his last missions of the war, he met and befriended Prince Paxton Greycoat.
Paxton’s leg had been broken after he ejected from his plane. And even though he and Gideon (his weapons officer) were found behind allied lines, extracting them by air was out of the question, because of the presence of enemy aircraft and ground troops; so the only way to get the Prince to safety was on foot. Rusty volunteered to help Gideon carry Paxton every step of the way.
As soon as Echo Company reached an area where an extraction was possible, a medical shuttle arrived; taking Paxton and Gideon off-planet to a hospital ship. Rusty never saw Paxton again for the rest of the war. With the Ursan surrender, he found himself being re-assigned to a hospital at a Canisii Aerospace Corps base on the planet Elbso, in the Phoenix System; treating the wounded from the Canis/Ursa war.
As he departed for the Phoenix System, the Corps’ news net was reporting on the Aries Empire’s push for supremacy, and the terrible new weapon that they used to burn the planet Chinenu, in the Cambisa System, to a cinder. As he lifted off from Ursa, an order was issued that all ships will maintain radio silence. It wasn’t too long afterwards when rumors began that King Timbor Blacktail had ordered the evacuation of the Monarchy’s Capital Planet, Aldion; while launching a punitive attack against the Empire for its destruction of Chinenu. Despite the news and rumors, Rusty was unprepared for what greeted him when he landed on Elbso, three weeks later.
The Monarchy had launched an attack against the Empire; striking deep into the system, and nuking the planets Gennma and Halya. The Empire retaliated, invading the Canis System, and deploying the same weapon they used on Chinenu, they destroyed Aldion; wiping out the remaining population and the Royal family. The king’s brother Harlkyn was now the ruler of the Monarchy. While he was meeting with the Emperor to sign a peace treaty, Imperial forces had invaded the Tri-System republic and seized the seats of government.
The base itself was on an around the clock state of alert, with the troops under orders not to interfere with the Empire’s occupation forces. A ring of imperial infantry and armor surrounded the Canisii base, which was now deep behind enemy lines.
Rusty spent the next year on Elbso watching Imperial Troops evicting people from their homes, sending them to re-education camps, or executing the dissidents. Something they did quite regularly, and always within sight of the Canisii base. He was also busy treating many of the now, homeless Elbsonii of the injuries they suffered at the hands of their Imperial conquerors.
When Rusty’s hitch was up, he was torn between staying to help the Elbsonii people, or going home to his wife and children. But orders were orders and he was sent to New Aldion (formerly the planet Linbra) for debriefing and transportation to his home and family on Timbrill.
He no sooner stepped off a military transport and took one step closer to civilian life when he was recruited by Paxton.

Your characters have a lot of history to them. I'm guessing you read alot to come up with these nice detailed pages.
Hope ya don't mind me asking, but how long did it take you to master inking like that? I can never seem to get it right and mess up on anything.

Well...
I've had these characters rattling around in my head for 25 years, so I've had plenty of time to really "flesh" them out.
As for my inking, well, I've been drawing professionally since I was 18, and then I landed a job as a Technical Illustrator when I was 20. It was hand drawn illustrations, and I used Rapidograph pens to ink with (hell, I still do). But to answer your question, I developed my inking style in about six months, and I've been inking this way ever since - 32 years now.
If you've never used a Rapidiograph pen, buy one and try it out. I recommend a No. 2 point.
You get a nice, even flow of ink, and then you can go back and add a little weight to your lines to create a brush look. Plus it helps to practice alot.
