Meanwhile, in another room, Alice Wonder was under guard by a LILAC hench girl. The hench girl kept a pistol aimed at Alice, because Vixen had warned her that her prisoner was 'crafty.' Alice closed her eyes and began trying to use her still only partially developed telepathic powers. Alice concentrated on the thought 'Put down the gun.' Alice looked up at the guard and could see a quizzical expression on her face. Alice continued to concentrate - 'Put down the gun.' In a few moments, the guard placed her gun on the table behind her. "Yes!" Alice thought to herself. She then concentrated on a another thought, 'You're under my control. Do as I tell you to do.' The LILAC again looked puzzled, as if some strange thought had occurred to her. But in a few moments, she could see the guard stiffen in place, as if she was now under the control of some outside force. Alice looked about the room and saw a locker in the corner. Now, speaking out loud, she said to the LILAC, "Go into the locker." The LILAC, without a word, walked to the locker, opened the door and stepped in. Alice followed her, and before closing the locker door, patted her on the head. "Good girl!" Alice said. She then locked the locker door. "Well, that went better than I expected." Alice tried to telepathically contact Betty and Drusilla, but could not make contact. That made her very worried. "What has Vixen done with them?!" Alice wondered, fearing the worst for her daughters.
