What a beautiful scene but a shame with the startrails. When I do astro I always use the 500-rule - 500 divided by your focal length (remember crop factor if not full-frame) gives you the maximum shuttertime before startrails begin. Since I began using this rule of thumb, I have never struggled with startrails.

Very cool Dani. A little too long on the exposure, but it sure brought out that milky way. Little bit of northern lights here? or just atmospheric glow?

It's facing south so atmospheric glow. No lights that night. It was a bit long of an exposure but I feel it doesn't take away from the image. I have a star trail from this location I have yet to put together
