Northern Cardinal and RobinGreen Ribbon Trail
St.Catharines, Ontario
While out on my first official birding adventure, I came across this beautiful Cardinal. When he finally came out of his hiding spot, he was escorted by at least 8 Robins. This robin sat there giving me the evil eye as I inched closer.
Every move I made, another robin would swoop down from the trees around me and land within 10 feet of me, like this one.

When the Cardinal flew away, so did the robins.
It was really cool to observe this kind of bird activity.

I am California born and raised... we don't have Cardinals here. I was 22 years old the first time I saw a Cardinal in the wild. I fell in love. I remember saying, "He's so RED!!!"
