Dazzler had found the kidnapped Dr. Judith Marie Robinson. The marine biologist was bound and weighted down at the bottom of the lake. After all this time the air in her tank had to be near empty. By the bubbles she knew there was still some air left. But for how much longer? Kicking off her shoes, and taking a deep breath, Ali dived in. All she had to do was get down to her, laser the chain, and bring her to the surface.
Simple, right?
Wrong.
Again.
There were three of them. They could have been aliens, mutations of some sort, the Sub-Mariner's trained pets, or even human jerks in costumes. Whatever these frog-like things were they were clearly guarding the prisoner. When Dazzler made her presence known they came out of hiding.
And they were coming after her.
I gotta end this quick, she thought. I can only hold my breath for so long.
Dazzler lit up and fired off a series of photon bolts at each frog-thing. Thank God they went down easy.
And I know her air's almost gone.
Alison Blaire, her own lungs close to bursting, swam over to Dr. Robinson. Hopefully she could laser the doctor free and get her to the surface before she passed out. Or before more of the Kermit Kommandos, or something worse, showed up.
