Aaaaah!I'm done!!!
Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith.
Killed several hundred thousand people, including his own wife, maimed his own son, tortured his own daughter. Living 20 years with the mobile intensive care unit on his body.
And he smiles to you.
Time taken: 17 h 15 m (or 30 m, I didn't keep track after 17 h, it's my longest artwork ever anyway)
Tools: Charcoal pencils, pencils 2H and 2B, mechanical pencils HB 0.5 and 0.35 mm, tissue, tortillions (LOTS of them), soft eraser, abrasive eraser, sharpened eraser, all on 30x40 cm Whatman paper.

What i love the most about you picture is Vader's cape.I can feel its material,texture and weight and I can see edges of his armour under it.It's very very real.
But what seems somehow unnatural is scarring on his cheek.

Bags under eyes? They were corrected and recorrected a lot of times
Cape! Wow! You know, shoulders were always the most difficult part for me. They always were looking like bas-relief. When I was drawing his shoulders I looked at my previous Vader's picture ([link] ) and tried to figure out why do shoulders look bad. I thought it's because I made the half-tone between light and shadow too narrow. So I tried to make it wide and here I am^^
A scar? Maybe... it looked strange in original, too. And also original photo had poor quality so I had to imagine a lot...

Мне нравятся глаза. Очень живые и натуральные. Ну и в целом твоя техника уже в плотную подходит к достоверному реализму. Мне такое не воспроизвести.

Ничего ^^ Спасибище! Одежда, как ни странно, оказалась легче всего, хотя раньше мне совсем не давались плечи и текстуры разные О.о
Эх, надо было мне угольные карандаши взять раньше! Года эдак на три. Куда быстрее прогресс бы шел, а то я мучилась с графитовыми, пытаясь получить тот же эффект. Теперь мне портрет Соу ( [link] ) рядом с этим кажется диким фейспалмом, хотя на тот момент был моим лучшим рисунком. Т_Т

О, это приятное ощущение, когда вдруг легко даётся то, что обычно никак...
Я вообще с углём не дружу... Поражаюсь, как можно такими материалами сделать портрет о_о

Ну, это не совсем уголь, это угольные карандаши. Они не пачкают всё вокруг так, как уголь, потому что держишься за дерево) И они ещё мягче, а уголь все-таки скребет.
И ими вообще легко рисовать - провел линию и потом салфеткой или специальной палочкой из бумаги размазываешь. Больше времени занимает размазывание, чем собственно рисование. В итоге и физически легко (не надо давить), и в результате получается очень гладко и равномерно, с графитовыми я так не умею.

У меня штрихи никак не выходят Т_Т все мечтаю себе поставить штриховку, худо-бедно научилась косыми штрихами небольшие пространства покрывать, но чтоб целый рисунок штрихами, как крутые художники - это пока нет... вот и размазываю
